My Experience with Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer:
Let’s begin with the packaging of the product. The concealer comes in a plastic tube packaging. This tube comes housed in the signature Kat Von D packaging i.e. white and black-colored cardboard box. The entire product-related information is printed on this cardboard box. The sleek transparent plastic tube packaging is convenient to carry when you are traveling. It has a regular silver-colored screw on type cap that fits pretty securely making the tube leak-proof and fit for carrying around. I like the brush-on type packaging more than this one as it is easier to use. There is a small opening in this tube, which dispenses the perfect amount of the product easily. Overall, the packaging is pretty fine and travel friendly.
The concealer comes in nine shades only, which is quite limited compared to other high-end brand concealers. I had opted for shade number 24 (Medium) which has slight beige undertones, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a slightly darker shade for my medium fair skin tone. The concealer has no significant fragrance.
The texture of the concealer is neither too thick nor too runny. It has the right consistency for applying and blending in the product easily. The formula is lightweight and feels comfortable on the skin. It is super easy to blend this concealer on any part of the face. It mixes with the skin amazingly and does not look heavy or cakey. The concealer blends easily when I use my fingers and leaves a soft matte finish. It imparts medium to full coverage. Though it normally imparts medium coverage, I can easily layer it on to build full coverage and opaque finish.
It covers all imperfections, like blemishes or acne marks and leaves flawless, natural-looking skin behind. My main concern is my under-eye area for which I need an orange corrector along with this concealer to cancel out the dark bluish kind of undertone. This concealer does not help to hide my dark circles because of its beige undertones. It would have worked better as an under eye concealer if it had some peachy undertones to it.
The concealer helps to create a smoother complexion. And, I am glad that my skin looks really natural. I love this concealer for everyday use. It looks like nothing on the skin and creates flawless complexion; this is what made me fall for this concealer because I do not really like heavy formulation of other full coverage foundations and concealers.
The concealer is waterproof and long lasting. The oil-free formulation is apt for my combination-oily and acne-prone skin. It does not clog my skin pores and never broke me out. I thought the formulation would be dry, but I am really amazed with the smooth and creamy formula of this concealer. It has a tendency to cling on to dry parts of the skin, so the key to flawless finish with this product is to properly prep your skin. Also, I have to be really quick in blending this concealer as it sets fairly quickly. I am happy that I did not face any creasing issues with this concealer once it sets. This product stays for up to 7-8 hours on my skin. It does not make my skin oily at all. Overall, I absolutely love this product.

Would I Recommend Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer?
Yes, I like this concealer for regular usage, but if you are looking for something, which imparts full coverage instantly, I will not recommend this to you. There are better options available out there. I love the Maybelline Insta Age Rewind Concealer, it gives full coverage, easily blend-able and inexpensive as well.
