Product Description:

There are some flaws even the cleverest of the make-ups can’t hide. Once again, the leading brand in cosmetics, Lakme has solved the problem with its Absolute White Intense Concealer Stick; perfectly attributed to cover and mask the dark circles.  This stick conceals blemishes and all possible signs of fatigue. Get a younger and fair looking skin today with this concealer containing Vitamin B3 and SPF 20.

First of all, these have only two shades, Fair to Medium and Medium to Dark, what a big turn off as if they are testing the waters for the Indian market for concealers.  Secondly, its named “White Intense” in tune with the foundations they have come up with.  Now, why don’t they understand, we don’t want to look “white” per say.  I am mainly interested in having a clear and even-toned skin with no pigmentation, even if it has to be dark or light and definitely not white. This “white effect” that labels promise is a very big turn-off with me, why can’t they call it “even skin tone” or “clear skin” or “glowy”, or “light reflecting.” Okay, I agree it may be something of my personal choice.

Lakme Absolute concealer

My first look at the concealer at Shopper’s Stop made me feel that both the shades are quite overlapping in shade, like for my Fair to Medium skin, I could have easily picked up either of the concealers and still make it work for me, but I don’t take chances with foundation and take a tone darker than what the SA would promise by testing all the shades on my wrist, which perhaps is the fairest body skin I have, clearly, my face is not so fair as my inner wrist, so I always take a tone darker in order not to have a white cast on my face, even though the SA might tell me “mam you are very “white” na, so this ivory will suit you.”

Lakme Absolute concealer

I like the stick form of concealer as Lakme did not have anything like this before.  It is exactly the same size and looks like the matte lipstick, but this one has a transparent cap to it.

The concealer is soft but not creamy as in it doesn’t melt when you swipe it, but it gently glides leaving off a good color for medium coverage. This, in fact, I like as creamy concealers crease very fast on me even though I blend them well. Not setting them with powder is a disaster.

So, to tell you honestly, this is a good, pigmented, soft concealer, but not creamy and melting types, and will you believe me if I said it lasted on for 4 hours without creasing or settling in the fine lines, that is without me setting it with powder. I was trying it out to see if it really needed setting with powder and it did not for four hours. So, I think for dry skin, it will not melt and will last longer, I have oily skin and oily eye lids, so chances were more to melt, and I was impressed!!!!

Apart from staying power, the finish is very good and natural and not at all powdery. It blends very well and to an invisible finish, very impressive and I did not feel like I am wearing a concealer.

For blemishes, it did an average job as the coverage was light for me.  I need a better heavier coverage for blemishes; for under eye area, it did a perfect natural-looking job.

As a base for eyeshadow, I find it nice enough as it does not crease so soon on me, so I can use this to cover under the eyes, crow’s feet and top of the lids too and then use some powder shadow to set it on the lids, and some compact under eyes.

Last Word on Lakme Absolute White Intense Concealer Stick with SPF 20:

It is indeed a good concealer giving me light to medium coverage for undereyes. For the face, it did an above-average job. I find the staying power good without creasing on my oily skin.  With powder, it will do a good job. The stick form is very convenient as well. It will give tough competition to Colorbar concealers as it’s a matter of personal preference.  Colorbar is creamy and this one is soft and blends well. For the price, I think it is a little overpriced.  They could have come up with more shades.  I can easily buy the light one too and make it work for me as it is not stark white I think.

It is a natural finish concealer and easy blending one, many of us may like such kind of a concealer.  I am not saying, go get it, but if you are planning to buy a concealer, it is a good medium coverage concealer; however, for the price of Rs. 450, many of us may want to compare it to the other brands first!

  6. A nice detailed review Neha. Also clever way of buying concealers by getting a shade darker than the ones that go well on your wrists. I really like the packaging of the absolute range

“mam you are very “white” na, so this ivory will suit you.” Hilarious :lol2: :lol2:

  7. Lollll, great review and very true Neha. But also happens with me in most counters with SAs…even though I am caucasian, they still try to push me the lightest shade even though its too light for my skin color…how white is too white for then i will never know :victory2:

  8. Nice review Neha!! :waytogo: :waytogo:
I’m using revlon photo ready stick concealer and itll take me ages to finish that up plus that has minute reflective particles so it’s illuminating also. I think I’ll skip this. :haanji:
Now waiting for the Lip Last range to be launched. Haven’t seen it anywhere! Has anyone seen it?? :announce: :announce: :announce:

  9. Hm….Seems pretty decent. But I would have been happier if they didn’t go on abot that “whitening” stuff. :joker: :lol2: :lol2: I guess apana desi brand ka level thoda badh gaya hai. :snicker: :snicker:
:thanks: for the review,Neha di! :teddy:

  10. i don have a single concealer :nababana: :nababana: .. may be i should get one..this one looks pretty good na??? thanx for the review Neha :puchhi:

  11. nice detailed review neha     i can easily skip this…..not very tempting kinds :nonono: :nonono: n OMG, white madam….. :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

  12. hey neha i have a combination skin and i have acne scars too, so do u think will this cocelear do justice to me or should i go with colobar full concelear. thanks for the review.

      1. Thanks a lot neha. Btw nyc review :waytogo: :waytogo: :waytogo:
I live in mumbai and as it is humid here i do sweat a lot on face so any suggestions that you can give on which concealer should i buy???

  13. Nice review, Neha!  Hahahaha @ the “madam, you are white” dialogue! What’s with the desi obsession with white skin? I thought that period was over at least 10 years back.

Okay, so, I have negligible dark circles but they start showing big time during exams as I’m a strictly last-minute-burning-the-midnight-oil-like-a-zombie kind of person. :silly: Don’t have any other prominent blemishes as such. Do you think this one is alright for me? I’m fair skinned aka what an SA would call “white”/”ivory”. :stars: :stars:

  14. Thanks for the detailed review, Neha. I will swatch & check these concealers next time I go out, I think it’s a good product if it blends well and doesn’t crease. 🙂 🙂

  15. hey Neha – thanks for the review. i am always looking for additional concealers as a backup (currently MAC) and have tried just abt most of them. Unfortunately none of them have even come close to MAC but I am very enthu abt trying this one. 🙂 this one looks quite promising

  16. Nice Review Neha.. and yes these SA are such a headachee.. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: ..
I think i might check this at the counter and then decide

  17. very nice detailed review Neha! i think we all have experienced SA pushing us the fair shades in founation/concealers..they still think we want to become fair :spank: :spank: :spank: i so agree with you..me too want clear skin and not white skin! :thanks:

  18. Good review Neha.. I liked thel packing style of this concealer.. must be easy to apply.. I recently bought the colorbar concealer in pencil form though. :shying:
