Some time back, I had reviewed the Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Color Blush Work and along with that shade, I had purchased the shade “Fuchsia Friday.” This was the other shade which had caught my attention and I purchased it without second thoughts. The Lakme 9 to 5 range has been a huge hit among matte lovers and like most of you here, I too wish they had not introduced shimmers in these lipsticks. The shades are gorgeous but the shimmers make it not so appealing, but anyway, we still have a few from this range, right? Anyhoo, read on to know about another shade from this range.

My Experience with Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Color – Fuchsia Friday:
By now, you all know about the packaging of this lipstick. I love the rose gold tube and the fact that it closes with a click lock sound and is travel friendly. The color of this lipstick is a bright pink with slight blue undertones and silver shimmer.
The lipstick glides on smoothly across the lips and sets into a matte finish. It does not dry out my lips but for someone who has extremely dry lips, a lip balm would be necessary. The pigmentation is good and you can build up the color, but then, the shimmer gets layered too and the application gets slightly patchy. It covers pigmented lips in about 2-3 swipes.

It brightens up my complexion and looks great during the festive season or special occasions. I personally wouldn’t reach out for this shade on an everyday basis. Coming to the shimmers, it is very obvious in this lipstick and looks more gritty and chunky. It doesn’t spread around the lips, but for someone, who doesn’t like shimmers in their lipsticks, going for this shade is not a wise option. When I swatched it at the store, I knew this lipstick had shimmers but I did not for once think it would be chunky. You can make out of the shimmer present even from a distance as it twinkles with light.
The staying power of this lip color is pretty good. It survives a full meal and leaves behind a beautiful tint with slight shimmers of course. With light snacks and tea, it stayed on my lips for about 5 hours and it still looked pretty. It doesn’t transfer much onto cups and spoon. The lipstick does settle in fine lines and looks very matte, so dry lips won’t like it much. Overall, I like this shade but only for parties or festive seasons, but I will not repurchase it. I wish Lakme comes up with such shades without the shimmer!
