Few days ago I picked up 2 glosses from Lakme’s Gloss Stylist range to try out and I am glad I picked those as they are perfect for the wedding season! After having a good experience with them, I planned to pick some more. This time I picked the shade “Plum Pout” since I did not have any plum glosses; I had brighter ones. So let’s see whether this worked equally well or not!

My Experience with Lakme Absolute Gloss Stylist in Plum Pout:
The Lakme Absolute Gloss Stylist comes in their signature black packaging as same as the other products in the range. The shade name is only written over the outer box, hence if the glosses are just lying in the vanity, then there is absolutely no clue! Then surprisingly I noticed one thing, the name is printed on the side of the cap in black, noticeable if observed closely. The gloss comes in a square sleek bottle with a deep grey shiny cap which adds spice to the packaging. Yes, the gloss does look very glamorous but I felt that it is a little smaller in size as compared to the glosses from various other brands. This looks like one of the glosses you decorate your bridal trousseau with! Very handy hence will easily fit in whenever you want it to fit into.
The wand is very nicely shaped and creates totally defined lips, in fact enhances the shape of my lips making it look perfect than ever. The consistency of the lip gloss is thick and creamy. It glides on very smoothly on the lips and gives full coverage in just 2 swipes. The shade might look uneven initially in the first swipe, but when coated with one more swipe, it gives a perfect pout! The shade looks very opaque initially because the pigmentation is intense but the colour keeps decreasing gradually hour after hour. It looks very glossy and adds a gorgeous pop on the lips.
The shade “Plum pout” is a super gorgeous deep plum shade with maroon hints loaded with glossiness. The shade actually looks like melted velvet on my lips. This is a perfect shade for a bride apart from red because it looks equally stunning when paired up with ethnic wear. It has some micro-shimmers in gold which are not visible on the lips, but they reflect in light making it look even glossier. It will suit all the skin-tones; in fact it will totally compliment Indian skin tones. Also it is a versatile enough to be carried by all age groups. It looks very beautiful on the lips and makes my face glow in a subtle manner. It adds an instant pop to my lips making my face appear brighter than usual and also it makes my teeth look whiter.
It stays longer than the other shades in this range. It stayed for 5-6 hours on my lips without having food (just sipping water) and with snacks 3-4 hours with the colour wiping off. The colour losses 50% of its intensity in just an hour! It also transfers a lot so I avoid sipping a lot of water. So I would prefer these glosses only when I have to just blabber and not eat much. When I eat it smudges a little outside the lip area and since the colour is so bold, it looks untidy. Hence either it has to be completely removed or may be a touch-up could help! A total must-have for this wedding season!

• Pricey.
• Half of the colour will be wiped off if I have a heavy meal.
• It smudges and bleeds if I snack a bit since the colour is intense and bold.

Yes totally! This is a must-have shade for brides and a great occasion/party wear. It complements the Indian skintone beautifully and would look great when paired up with ethnic wear.
