LAKME GYPSY COLLECTION BLACK SATIN KAJAL REVIEW
Hi again, IMBB beauties. A review on another item I recently bought from the Lakme Gypsy Collection – The Black Satin Kajal, priced at Rs. 150/-.
What attracted me to this kajal was the neat packaging and look of the product. (Oops, sorry I threw away the cardboard packaging), but I remember that it was very neatly packed in a bluish-purple cardboard packing, much bigger than the kajal itself, so totally hygienic and untouched. The Black Satin Kajal is so chic looking and hep – a black background with a spiral gold floral design. The gold flower designs are inter-twining each other and the plastic cap has the same design too. Very lovely looking and attractive indeed.
I think this is going to be a real hit with most women who like to apply kajal. This is the most blackest black, jet black, midnight black, etc. etc. colour pay-off I have seen in a kajal. It is also super soft to apply and just one stroke gives you rich, intense black colour.

If you are doing a smokey eye makeup look, you can apply this on your eyelid lightly and smudge it to give a smokey look, followed with grey or silver eye shadow to set it. However, if you have oily lids, I don’t think you can use this as a long-lasting eyeliner as it tends to settle into the crease after a while. Now, regarding this being water resistant and smudge-proof, I would like to show you the following pics :
I allowed it to ‘set’ and I lightly tried smudging it after 5 minutes :

- A very nice, neat and fashionable-looking kajal.
- Good innovation from Lakme.
- Is super soft to apply.
- Just one stroke gives you rich, intense black colour pay-off.
- Such a rich black kajal is a first from Lakme.
- Being so soft, can be used on the waterline as well.
- It most probably will not cause allergies as it appears to be absolutely fragrance-free.
- A good, convenient size, so easy to carry around in the handbag.
- Reasonably priced.
- Lakme has updated their website as soon as the Gypsy Collection was launched.
CONS OF LAKME GYPSY COLLECTION BLACK SATIN KAJAL
- I think the wearing time would be longer than their regular kajal, but it does tend to smudge after a few hours.
- Definitely not as long-lasting in terms of wearability than their 9 to 5 Eye Defining Pencil.
- If using as an eyeliner, you would need a good primer so that it doesn’t set in the creases (unless you have dry skin).
- Swimmers – be careful, unless you want raccoon eyes!
- I have nothing else to crib about, as I’m liking the colour pay-off too much!
On a scale of 1 to 5 as far as a kajal goes (not an eyeliner), I would give this a full :-* :-*:-*:-*:-*

I am heads over heels in love with this kajal. Infact i am so mad that I even took pics of my eyes after 5 hours of application. And you wouldn’t believe that it was on my waterline for good 7 hours. But after that i had to remove it . It found it a little difficult to remove but I really don’t mind that. Nothing has stayed on my waterline like this. Me :inlove: :inlove: :inlove:
It smudges a little on my eyes but not so insanely . Like I didn’t end up having racoon eyes. he he

It really is that good? I cant find any kajal that stays on my water line for long…. I used to use Biotique’s almond kajal but it smudges really bad and doesnt stay for longer than a couple of hours and ends up in my undereye area :(…..Rati have u used Biotique’s kajal?

Appu, yeah it’s very good. I do love lotus kajal but it fades away after a few hours. But since it’s a kajal, I don’t expect it to stay long. It went on and on and on. And it’s super smooth , and no racoon eyes and even after splashing water it didn’t satat flowing from my eyes.I mean there was a little smudging but nothing that you can’t handle.Also you juts wipe your under eyes lightly with a tissue and it would look just fine. 🙂 I can go on and on and on. 😛
The overall collection is fantastic this time starting form lipsticks, lip glosses kajal. Nail paint shades are pretty decent as per lakme standards.Only eye shadow quads are a little disappointing. Will show you. 🙂

Hi Radhika, Sorry I’m replying so late…went out for dinner & just returned. I did a French Manicure on my nails, but instead of using a sheer pink base, I used a frosty beige & then did the French tips. Hey, I’m so excited that you like it. (Jumps for joy!!!)

ANSHUUUUUUUUUUU…I went to all counters and came without buying anything 😀 😀 😀 Lancome, Shiseido, YSL, Chanel….and i don’t know..is like me so lucky…errr unlucky…but luckyyy….I went to Shiseido to buy my moisturizer..The SA tells me..is out of stock…she is like it will come only Tuesday and i can only go on Saturday so she give me enough samples to last me at least 1 whole month if not longer…hehehee..me cheap…me very happy I got free ka 1 month samples hehehehe. Then I go to YSL…ask for the lip brush the SA was using..she tells me its what they use na for doing makeup…not what they sell..so she packs that for me saying oh dont bother buying from somewhere else now..you take these…heheheee..me super happy. Me almost tell her me louuuu her…I think I tell her I louuu her…she happpy me happy…so she is like if you are free dont have any other work I do makeover for you? Me tell her me louuuu her..and me free …so she did such a supercute makeup for me…hehheee…me not washed face till now 😀 😀 😀
