L’Oreal Color Riche Naturals Lipstick 276 Toffee Chocolate Review

Today’s review is on the lipstick from my sister’s stash. She loves this shade to the core and the maniac she is, has kept two backups of it, in case the shade is discontinued. Anyway, let us see how this lipstick fares on me.

This lipstick is enriched with Omega-3 Oils and Vitamin E helps to protect your lips from drying. It’s soft, creamy texture leaves lips moisturized and smooth with a perfect finish.

My Take on L’Oreal Color Riche Naturals Lipstick 276 Toffee Chocolate:

Packaging: It comes in the regular L’Oreal packaging, which is a golden coloured, splendid case. The cap snaps with a click and the lipstick stays intact. The shade number is put on the bottom, as well as at the top. The sticker at the bottom which bears the name and the number is colour coded. So, you can easily locate the shade if you have more than one lipstick from this range. Quite a simple and functional packaging.

Shade: I am really finding it difficult to describe the shade, because it seems to be a mix of copper and peach. It comes off as more of a n*de shade on the lips. It can be worn during day time to office. I personally feel it will flatter the lighter skinned beauties.

Texture/Finish: it is a mix of a creamy texture with glossy high shine finish. It is the shimmer particles, which give it a glossy finish. It feels light and moisturizing on the lips. Owing to the creamy texture, it may feel wobbly while application, so it’s better to use it with a lighter hand. It does not bleed, smudge or feather.

Fragrance: True to its name, it smells of some chocolate only. The smell lingers on for some time, but it is on the milder side, hence won’t bother much.

Pigmentation: The pigmentation is poor. One swipe only gives the hint of n*de shade on the lips. The intensity has to be built up with 2-3 swipes and despite that it does not provide full coverage. Maybe it is with the shade only that it doesn’t show up in a single swipe, but whatever it is, definitely not for pigmented lips.

Staying Power: It stays on only for 1.5 hours on me. This lipstick has to be reapplied. It fades evenly and leaves behind an iota of shimmer particles on the lips. With the hefty price tag, I expected it to stay a bit longer. It cannot survive meals and transfers heavily onto cups and glasses

Pros of L’Oreal Color Riche Naturals Lipstick 276 Toffee Chocolate:

• Simple and functional packaging.
• The lipstick does not bleed or feather. It does not settle into fine lines nor does it accentuate them.
• Provides moisturisation to the lips. No need to apply any lip balm underneath.
• Creamy, glossy finish with a hint of shimmer particles.
• Claims to contain Omega -3 oils and Vitamin E, which keep the lips softer.

Cons of L’Oreal Color Riche Naturals Lipstick 276 Toffee Chocolate:

• Staying power is poor. Barely 1-2 hours. Has to be reapplied throughout the day.
• Transfers a lot.
• The shade is not universally flattering.
• Price is on the higher side.

Would I repurchase/recommend L’Oreal Color Riche Naturals Lipstick 276 Toffee Chocolate?

No, I won’t buy it again, but would suggest it to ladies who like creamy, glossy and shiny lipsticks and don’t mind a peck of shimmer on the lips.
