I am not really into shiny lip products because they are bit too conspicuous and draw a lot of attention, especially when one is surrounded by people who hardly wear makeup. Nevertheless, I still have a little penchant towards water shine products and tend to buy them and I loved the finish of this product in particular and decided to give a try to two of the shades form this range.

My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Purple Prelude Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lip Color:
The product looks very royal and expensive and did create a little bit of buzz in town when it was launched. Many bloggers gave this product a thumps up and better review than it’s contemporaries by Revlon and other brands.
Packaging: this product is a combination of lip color and lip gloss hence comes in a plastic, cylindrical stub which holds the product and an equal length cap which holds the brush. The entire body of the product has gold finish and the stub has a color patch which makes identification easier. The applicator brush is unique and might appear futile on first inspection but it proves its efficacy as soon as it is put to use. It can be used for precise application to get full coverage or just on the cupids bow to add a little volume.
Texture: it is very smooth and creamy but not tacky like some cheap lip gloss. It glides on smoothly and can be layer to give a water shine finish or just dab a little with fingers to give a cream finish. The formula is very creamy and provides good moisture and hydration.
Color: soft purple, mauve shade which looks particularly good on darker skin tones.
Pigmentation: it has good pigmentation for a liquid lip color with gloss finish. As the day progress, shine does diminish but the color stays intact and does require touch ups after meals.
Shimmer and shine: it has water-shine finish and looks really pretty – the kind models flaunt in vogue magazine. One can also lightly dab the product on lips to get faint color and cream shine.
Fragrance: this product has amazing fragrance and reminds me of an expensive perfume I had long time ago but unfortunately the fragrance fades away eventually.
Wear time: like I mentioned earlier, the shine does fade away eventually but the color does stay put. One needs to touch up after meals which I personally don’t mind.
Conclusion: this shade and product is beautiful and I am planning to buy other colors from this range. I love the finish it gives – it is the right combination of glossy and classy. It is not that expensive and gives a beautiful finish.
