Hey IMBB lovelies,
This is my first time that I am writing a post for a beauty blog and that too for the blog I am totallyyyy in love with: D he he. Reading posts on IMBB everyday has become an obsession now. Please forgive me if I make any mistakes. So not wasting any more time and jumping on to the review, today I will be reviewing this gorgeous lipstick named Magenta Fire from Lotus Herbals that my daughter got me for mother’s day last year.
Price and quantity: INR 245 for 4.2 grams.
What the company claims:
Pure Colors Is A 100% Vegetarian Range of Moisturizing Lip Colors Available in 40 Rich, Sophisticated Shades Including a Wide Choice in Peaches, Pinks and Nutty Browns.
The whole list of ingredients is not available on the site. It just mentions Aloe Vera there.
My take on Lotus Herbals Magenta Fire Pure Colors Lipstick:
Packaging of the product is somewhat boring and nothing to die for, but, at the provided price I was honestly not expecting much. However, it is quite sturdy and therefore travel-friendly which is good.
Color and pigmentation of this lipstick is what impressed me the most. To describe the color, it would be appropriate to say that it indeed is quite magenta with a hint of red. Also, it has very fine golden shimmer which is not at all chunky and reflects the light perfectly. Moreover, the shimmer present is not quite distinguishable unless inspected very closely and shimmers are not left behind when the lipstick is worn off which is a huge plus point for me. Pigmentation of the lipstick is quite fantastic and I just needed 2 swipes to build a good coverage for my fairly pigmented lips. When my daughter used it on her lips which are not pigmented, she just needed a single swipe.
The shade instantly brightens up my complexion and in my opinion it should go well with fair to medium skin tones and most of it depends upon how you carry of this color. However, it might look a little OTT with very heavy eye makeup. Also, it might not be suitable if you are looking for an everyday/office wear shade.
Texture of the lipstick is quite moisturizing and I didn’t feel the need to apply any lip balm under it which is not usual for me as I have super duper dry lips throughout the year. It glides on easily and feels very creamy on the lips however, the color transfers and this fact does not go down well with me as I hate lipstick stains on my glass. It is fairly light and doesn’t weigh down the lips.
Staying power of the lipstick is quite average and honestly I wasn’t really expecting it to stay hours on me. It stays for 2-3 hours after which it starts to fade off but, that may be because of my super dry lips. However, on not-so-dry lips it might stay for 3-4 hours after which it starts to fade away unevenly and shouts for re-application.
The fragrance of the lipstick is a bit nauseating for my sensitive nose but upon application, I can no longer smell the fragrance.
So, here are the pros and cons of the lipstick:
Pros of Lotus Herbals Magenta Fire Pure Colors Lipstick:
• The shade of the lipstick is fantastic and I totally loved it at the first sight. It is a good breakthrough our everyday reds and browns.
• Travel-friendly and sturdy packaging
• Very affordable for the quantity and quality.
• Texture is quite moisturizing and not drying for dry lips. One can really skip lip balm under it.
• Fairly pigmented.
• It is herbal.
Cons of Lotus Herbals Magenta Fire Pure Colors Lipstick:
• Whole list of ingredients is missing.
• Not for someone looking for everyday office wear shades.
• I am not satisfied with the staying power but I don’t think it really is a con at the provided price for such a mouth-watering shade.
4/5 (-1 for ingredients not mentioned and poor staying power).
Below is the picture of how it looks on my daughter.
Would I repurchase / recommend Lotus Herbals Magenta Fire Pure Colors Lipstick?
Yes, if you are looking for a nice shade other than reds and browns; or if you are simply into magentas you should definitely try this one out.
