Today, I will be reviewing a face serum by a brand from Finland called “Lumene.” Lumene is a famous skin care brand from Europe. Lumene is famous for using wild Arctic berries in their products, Lumene quickly became the leading skin care and cosmetic brand in Finland. Let us see how this product fared on me:
A vitamin-enriched facial serum for dry to severely dry skin. A brightening and hydrating facial serum contains bioactive oil complex including cranberry and cloudberry seed oils. Helps intensely condition hydrate and vitalize extremely dry skin. Visibly reduces the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles caused by dehydration. Skin appears firmer smoother brighter younger looking and feels more comfortable. Ideal for normal to dry skin types. Free of parabens, formaldehyde, mineral oil, synthetic colorants and fragrance.
19 Euros for 30 ml (A bit expensive..huh!!)
Antioxidants, Lactic Acid, Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Essential Oils, Panthenol, Jojoba, Vitamin E, Vitamin C.
My Experience with Lumene Bright Now Vitamin C Dry Skin Cocktail:
Starting with the packaging, this is the most adorable and luxurious packaging I have come across. The serum itself is so beautiful. It comes in a thick glass bottle with a pump dispenser system, but the two colors that you see in the photos are the colors of the serum. The bottle has two layers of liquid in it (it claims to be two different oils) and due to difference in the viscosity, they do not emulsify together and remain separate from each other after a while. So, one has to shake the serum really well before application.
The consistency of the liquid looks very thick in the bottle, but when you dispense it out, it is very liquid in nature. The actual formula reminds me of the leftover juice you would find inside the package that a paper face mask comes in. So when I apply it on my face, it gives me the same feeling as the leftover juice after taking off the mask. It does not get absorbed easily and takes a lot of time to sink in. I find it very oily for my skin, my face shines for almost an hour post application.
It has the goodness of Panthenol and Vitamin C. Panthenol naturally hydrates and vitamin C promotes collagen production to smooth out the skin tone and texture while softening lines and wrinkles. Arctic Cloudberry is the ultimate, multi-task beautifier. Its age-defying seed oil is rich in omega acids that protect and strengthen the skin. The berry’s high vitamin C content – more than double the amount in oranges – is particularly beneficial in restoring skin’s texture while the detoxifying properties of the nectar give skin a brighter, more radiant glow.
I use this magic product almost every day in the night. Since it looks oily, I do not use in the morning. I take 2-3 drops to cover my entire face, that way, it looks less oily. Looks like this is perfect to use at night-time only because it starts working halfway through the night. When I sometimes get up in the midnight and see my face in the mirror, I can see my skin glowing. In the morning, my face looks so fresh and radiant. It hydrates skin really well. Since I have normal to combination skin, I skip it during monsoon, but would be a bliss to use in winter. For dry skinned beauties, this is a perfect magic potion.
