Pink Nouveau is a bright barbie pink. It is a blue based cool toned lipstick and bends slightly towards the neonish side.
I LOVE this color. I always go for cool tone shades. I feel they add a bit of freshness to my face . So for me Pink Nouveau is right on top of my list. This is the kind of shade that would work for a large number of skin tones. What matters is whether you would be able to pull it off or not. I have seen this color on dusky skin tones, on wheatish skin tones and on fair skin tones. It works if you pull it off. Just apply a bit of complimenting blush, keep your eye makeup soft and you are good to go.
It is a very pigmented opaque lipstick. You do need to exfoliate your lips before wearing it or it would accentuate the fine lines of your lips. The staying power is more than 4 hours one me and it leaves a soft pink stain behind. I like to wear it as a full on lip color but you can pretty much wear it as a stain and top it off as a gloss. The lipstick is very creamy and goes on matte on lips. It might feel a bit drying on lips during this chilly weather, especially. So do apply a lip balm before applying this lipstick or top it off with a gloss. Like all MAC lipsticks this also has a lovely vanilla fragrance but no color. I am wearing the same lip color HERE. This lipstick is 2-3 shades brighter than Lovelorn but both have similar undertones.
You HAVE to give it a try at the store if you like bright pop of color on your lips. It is the kind of color that you’d either love or hate. But try it. 🙂
