Hi lovely ladies!!!
I have tried MUA powder blushes before and I have to admit I was totally impressed by them, which made me greedy to get a few more products from MUA. After their powder blushes- I moved onto their cream blushes- and just like the powder blushes, these have pretty names to them too. If you have never tried a MUA blush, then you should get at least one as soon as possible- as I feel these are one of the best budget blushes available. Today, I will be reviewing MUA blush perfection cream blusher in the shade Scrummy.
Price: £2.00 for 2.4gm
Enhance your complexion and say goodbye to dull-looking skin! These cream blushers are very versatile and multi-purpose. They can be directly applied to bare skin, layered over foundation or set with the matching matte blushers in the £1 MUA range. You can use blush perfection to highlight your cheekbones, shape your face, build and blend with fingers or a brush to create the colour intensity. The colour effects range from a light pink to warm shade, depending on method of application.
My experience with Makeup Academy Scrummy Blush Perfection Cream Blusher:
MUA cream blusher comes in a very simple packaging, a black blush pan with a transparent lid having the name MUA printed on it. The transparent lid enables you to spot the shade easily in your makeup stash. To open the product you just need to flip up the clear front. The lid closes securely with a click mechanism – making it travel-friendly. It doesn’t come with an in-built mirror or applicator. The shade name is mentioned on the bottom of the pan along with the ingredients list. The packaging on the whole looks very simple and isn’t fancy (but we certainly can’t complain for the price it is available for).
Scrummy is a beautiful peachy pink blush. It is a complete matte blush with absolutely no pearl sheen or shimmer. It is a lovely shade that adds brightness to the cheeks without being overpowering. It is actually a very nice shade to wear all year round and perfect for both day and night looks. I also feel that this is a nice shade for every skintone as it is a very standard shade. It gives a pretty flush to the cheeks that can be worn for work too. If you’re a blush person, then you should definitely get this shade.
My favorite thing about this blush has to be the formula, I’m not a cream blush fan but this is just creamy enough to blend while setting to an almost powder finish for a more natural flush rather than leaving you with vaseline cheeks. So people who run away from cream blushes, with the fear that they will leave your cheeks extra dewy, can try this blush without any inhibitions.
Texture of this blush is extremely smooth, buttery and creamy. The colour is quite pigmented, so a little blush will go a long way. It blends easily giving a youthful glow to the cheeks. But make sure you don’t go overboard with the blush otherwise you will land up looking like a clown.
Staying power of this blush can vary depending on whether you have a base of BB/CC/ foundation underneath the blush. But overall I get about 4-5 hours of wear if worn over a sheer base of BB cream before I start to notice fading. It fades away gradually and doesn’t get patchy as it fades. I find that with this cream blush as a sort of base for another powder blush, it allows any blush to wear longer and stay put almost all day.
