I adore Marc Jacobs fragrance, but I have always have longevity issues with this brand’s perfumes. The one that I personally love is Daisy Dream and it is my favorite summer spring fragrance from Marc Jacobs. Recently, Marc Jacobs launched “Decadence” which has a very unique composition according to some people, so I went ahead and bought it.
Fragrance Family: Floral . Scent Type: Warm Florals Key Notes: Italian Plum, Bulgarian Rose, Jasmine Sambac, Liquid Amber About: A sensual, luxurious, and woody fragrance, Decadence embodies the spirit of irreverent glamour. The fragrance opens with sultry top notes of Italian plum, iris flower, and saffron. The heart combines luxurious notes of Bulgarian rose, jasmine sambac, and orris. The indulgent dry down reveals the base notes of vetiver, papyrus woods, and liquid amber. What else you need to know: Rendered in a palette of rich emerald green, Decadence features an exotically textured arched python cap. A gold chain and black silky tassel finish the look, defining a new era of glamorous luxury with the re-emergence of clean lines, rich materials, and opulent details.
My Experience with Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum Spray:
Marc Jacobs Decadence comes housed in a purse type green bottle with a bulky gold chain and black tassels on it. Honestly, I don’t like the packaging too much because it’s quite bulky and needs a lot of space. In fact, the tassel and chain are quite inconvenient! The name of the brand and perfume is printed on the front of the bottle.
Marc Jacobs Decadence reminds me a lot of Christian Dior Poison Girl, but Decadence is a little sweeter and fresh. I generally don’t gravitate towards sweet fragrances and even this was not that appealing to me initially. But later, I realized that as it starts to dry down on me, I started liking this fragrance and I get so many compliment while I wear it.
Marc Jacobs Decadence has plum in it which makes it a unique composition since there are very less fragrances that use plum as a note. It is dark, deep and sweet and fresh at the same time – and that makes this perfume good for all year around.
Because of its deep dark fragrance, I prefer wearing it at night since it has quite an impact. On initial spray, it is too sweet, but as it settles down, it becomes more deep and s*xy. It takes approximately one hour to dry down. It’s more of an intimate fragrance and people who are sitting next to you or standing near you can smell it. The longevity of this fragrance from Marc Jacobs actually surprised me. Unlike the other fragrances from this brand, Decadence lasts for 7 to 8 hours on me because generally other Marc Jacobs perfumes last for 3 to 4 hours maximum on me.
Pros of Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum Spray:
- Unique packaging.
- Unique fragrance.
- Lasts longer than Marc Jacobs fragrances.
- Can be worn all year round.
Cons of Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum Spray:
- Bulky packaging and is not easy to store.
Would I Recommend/Repurchase Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum Spray?>
Yes, I would recommend and repurchase, but do try in the store since dark fragrances are not liked by all.
