Maybelline, MAC and Estee Lauder Haul

As soon as I got to know that Make Up Forever and Benefit are available at Kunchals, New Delhi I had to go and check it out. It was hard to resist the temptation. πŸ˜€ I have to say that Kunchals is trying hard to bring the international products in India but I think it will take them some time to stock up the “tempting products”.Β  Most of the Make Up Forever Pencils were for Rs 1350, aqua liners for Rs 1650 and rest of the cosmetics were above this range only. Benefit gave me a shock. Everything is almost above Rs 2000. They also have the Big Beautiful Eye Palette and Smokin Eye Palette which I found very pretty . They were around Rs 3300. And I guess I have lost my love for Benetint after actually swatching it. Don’t get me wrong that it is not nice or lovely but I think the Body Shop Lip and Cheek tint in Rose would do equal justice. Shu Umemura and Gosh Cosmetics are also available with them. The Shu Uemura palettes were in the range of Rs 5000.

Lakme hasn’t come up with their Eye Magic Eye Shadows yet.Sigh!

IΒ  bought the red nail Paint from Colorama – Rs 79.Β  I had almost picked up a shade from the Maybelline Express Finish 50 Second Nail Colour. It was for Rs 175 and I decided I was not going to pay so much for a badly packaged product. πŸ˜›

So I bought this pretty red and a cute bottled nail paint. πŸ˜‰ Maybelline Colorama - red Next junction was Select City Walk, New Delhi.

I mainly went to check the MAC Give Me the Liberty of London collection since the packaging was way too tempting. I have to say that except Birds & Berries eyeshadow and Shell Pearl Beauty powder, nothing allured me. The difference between the beauty powder and the blush is that the MAC beauty powder can be worn all over the face. To me , the beauty powders were quite shimmery, I doubt if it could be worn all over the face. The Shell Pearl was already sold out but I was not sad because my Cinnabar Blush from Colorbar is the closest match . lol! The packaging of MAC Give Me the Liberty of London is definitely gorgeous.

Anyway, MAC has launched their next Collection already called MAC Mineralize Foundation SPF 15 Foundation (Rs 1800).Β  I had to try it out. πŸ˜› Well! I did and I knew I had to buy it as well. :rotfl: It’s like a creamy butter foundation that gives a silky mattish finish, has a medium coverage and feels like nothing on the skin. This one would not work for people with oily skin because it is quite emollient. MAC Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation The foundation was sealed with an aluminum wrapper. MAC Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation It comes with a mirror and a sponge applicator. MAC Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation And oflate I have been noticing that my complexion has gone a little fairer. My foundations are looking a little darker than the usual. πŸ™ I guessed it right. I tried NC 35 at the store and it matched my complexion to the T ( last time I bought the shade NC 40 and it matched my complexion to the T then. :P). And I don’t use any fairness creams. :idk: MAC Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation

MAC Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation Next visit was to Estee Lauder. Boy oh boy! what a change in services since the last time I went. They did make it feel like a luxury brand. I was dying to see the coral blush from the Michael Kors Very Hollywood Collection. They were already out of stock of it and the SA mentioned that the Michael Kors Collection is doing excellent. I am not surprised. I resisted hard from buying their Long Wear Eye Pencil in Graphite (around Rs 1000). I looked around at some blushes, nail paints etc and the Brush on Illuminator. Since long I have been looking for an illuminator but nothing was fitting in what I wanted – some were glittery, some didn’t match my complexion and some were meh! When I swatched the Estee Lauder’s illuminator (Rs 1550) on my wrist, I thought this was exactly what I was looking for. Then the SA offered me if I wanted to try it on my face, I agreed and the No 3 (Medium) from the range completely matched my complexion and it did not have any chunky illuminating particles, which could give you reverse raccoon under eyeΒ  effect. Expensive but I got what I was looking for a long time now. Estee Lauder Ideal Light Brush on Illuminator It comes with a brush on applicator and has a twisted tube format. Estee Lauder Ideal Light Brush on Illuminator

Estee Lauder Ideal Light Brush on Illuminator Then I swatched their new perfume called Pure White Linen. I am going to buy it as my birthday gift. πŸ˜› As of now they gave me the samples of the perfume and the eyecream. They wrapped everything in the butter papers and then put the stuff in the paper bag. My experience at the store was excellent. I came out smiling. πŸ™‚Estee Lauder Ideal Light Brush on Illuminator All in all a good day. Me, happy bunny. :beauty:And now for quite some time, I’d rather keep mum and sit quietly. No makeup shopping. πŸ˜€

  2. heyy rati i love the illuminator will wait for ur review first and it will be so gr8 and nice of u if u do how to apply it video πŸ˜‰ plzzzzzzzzz

    1. lol!! It’s very easy to apply. Just two swipes on the under eyes, little touch ups on the blemises and the bad with a concealer brush or the finger tips. Easy Peasy. πŸ™‚

  3. fabulous haul swthrt..!!
    red nail paint = love

I want that illuminator asap.. and i hope they are as generous with their samples when i shop there..!!
God make me walk soon.. these girls are not letting me sleep buying new and awesome stuff daily..!!!

    1. Yeah, I fell in love with this red instantly. πŸ˜› I found my illuminator after ages and I am just keeping my fingers crossed. Hope I fall in love with it. :inlove:

And you will start walking soon baby, don’t worry. Then we will go crazy with your hauls. loll!!

  4. Hi Rati, Thanks for all these nice reviews. BTW, I bought the Lakme Eye Magic eye make up last week. Since I’m leaving tomorrow, dont have time to do a full review on them, but just wanted to say that they come in a long glass container (like their Starshine lip glosses) and they are available in gold and silver. They are gel-type, but very fast drying, and have a sponge-tip applicator. They can be used as eyeshadow on the eyelids, or as a highlighter on the brow bone area. Can also be used as a highlighter for cheeks, etc. Price is Rs. 295 each.

    1. Aww!! Thank you so much for the update Sabrina. I so wanted to know what exactly they were. :-* :-* I thought you had already left. πŸ™‚

  5. The illuminator may be similar to YSL’s touche eclat. I heard even clinique has something similar. πŸ˜•

I’m thinking of trying out the mineralise skinfinish natural powder – although I swaer I am loving the “butter” feeling that you’re describing πŸ™ boohoo for oily skin :-((
.-= ki.´s last blog ..Lacto Calamine Lotion =-.

    1. The Skin Finish Natural are a hit or a miss. They are super smooth and give the mots natural finish i have ever come across but my T zone tends to get oily after a few hours. SO choose wisely- might or might not work for you.

  6. Hey Rati , Please do the review for MAC Mineralize foundation ( the new one ). Would it suit combination skin?

  7. Also , do foundations help in lightening the complexion ?:-) ? This am asking ‘cos u said that your complexion is getting lighter and that you are not using any fairness cream :-))

  8. Lavanya, I think it should suit combination skin but it’s def not for people with oily skin. I have no clue about my complexion getting fairer. πŸ™ NC 40 was looking dark on me . Thank god I have used most of my previous mac foundation or else i would have regretted buying it so much.

I thought people get tanned in summers , in my case it went the other way round. πŸ˜›

  9. Rati, great tempting haul, Im curious and ignorant-what exactly does an illuminator do?
Over the weekend, I bought 2 lip balms-the mint one from lotus and the dragonfruit from Nivea, I was actually looking for the strawberry one but they never seem to have it in stock. Colorbar didnt have the lipstick shades or basecoat Neha recommended either πŸ˜₯ ,so I came away with some Nail colour insead, sigh!

    1. Illuminator basically brightenus up your under eye area and it is mainly used as a concealer. Sometimes your under eye area looks dull and tired, illuminator helps your eyes look bright and awake. You may also conceal your blemishes or use it as highlighter for your nose , cheek bones etc. πŸ™‚

Do let me know how do you find the lotus lip balm. The strawberry flavour of nivea is super tempting. I feel like eating it up. :eat: I just use it when I want to pamper my lips, just that other than the flavour Nivea lipbalm does not help in healing my chapped lips.

Colorbar definitely has these distribution problems. Can’t help. πŸ™

  10. Lovely haul darling!!!!

   for EL service….

    I love Colorama… :inlove:

Btw… You shd stop saying “no makeup shopping”… You end up shopping the next day…. LOL!!!!

    Just kidding!!! πŸ˜›

    1. Loll!! I know. Wth?? My hubby has to keep me in chains to make that happen. πŸ˜€

Estee Lauder SA totally made me feel like Alice in Wonderland. I so enjoyed the trip. πŸ™‚

I guess I’ll explore more of colorama shades. Colorbar is increasing its prices and this one costed me 80 bucks, which is not a bad deal at all. πŸ™‚

  11. Most most welcome, Rati. I’m off in a few hours. Really enjoying your updates and blogs and everything on your website. Take care.

  12. You might be right, Shivanai. MAC mineralize satin finish nc 40 used to match my skin perfectly, MAx Factor’s sand matches my skin to the T and now both give me a little tanned look. Not that I mind but they are one shade darker for my complexion now. So… :sidefrown:

      1. Hi Rashi,

You have to go to the store and pick up an illuminator that matches your skin tone. Ask the mAs to help you out. πŸ™‚

  13. seriously do u get mac n other brands in mumbai? if yes then where please tell me i m gonna rob that t place!
