NARS The Multiple Mini Set – South Beach, Orgasm, Copacabana Review

Today, I am reviewing a must-have staple for any NARS junkie. NARS The Multiple, set of 3 minis (4 gm each) can be used for cheeks, eyes, and lips. I think they comes in various mini sets of different shades, and I bought the set containing Copacabana, Orgasm and South Beach.

Copacabana – Glistening pearl with sheer silver pearls.

Orgasm – A sheer warm pink with golden shimmer.

South Beach – Light, shimmering apricot.

After trying the powder blush version of NARS Orgasm, I was itching to try out these Multiple sticks, though at first I was really apprehensive about using a cream stick, owing to the fact that I have oily skin. However, I must say that these work awesome during the winter months, and of course, this time of the year, the monsoons, are probably the worst time to use these in India!

Coming to the individual shades, let me sum up the uses I have put these to and how they fared.

Copacabana, as mentioned above, is a glistening pearl leaning towards silver-pinkish colour, with sheer silver pearls. Great as a brow bone highlighter, inner corner of the eye highlight, and it looks lovely too when placed on the highest point of both cheekbones. I tried using it as an eyeshadow, but it creased within 15 minutes. For those with oily skin, I wouldn’t recommended using this down the bridge of the nose, or else your nose will look like a diamond pendant in the middle of your face 😛 Works very well as a cupid’s bow highlight, though do apply it before you apply lipstick or lip gloss or else it has a tendency to get smudged while patting it into the skin. In my opinion, too light a shade to be used alone as a lipstick, although can be applied atop any lipstick with a lip brush, to give a frosty effect, or to lighten a darker lip colour.

Orgasm, is a peachy-pink with golden shimmer, very much true to the similar shade of this name in powder blush form from NARS. Now, I love this one as follows:  layered under a powder blush in summer, and applied on its own or layered on top of a pink or peach matte blush in winter. Tried it as a lipstick, it does look good in its own way, though a bit drying, so I would recommend prepping your lips with a lip balm and then blotting out the lip balm before applying The Multiple Orgasm on your lips. If you have normal to dry eyelids, you can use this as an eyeshadow, but on oily lids, it will crease.

South Beach, a light golden shimmery apricot shade, strangely enough, worked well for me as an eyeshadow, applied with a very light touch; just a veil of colour. Apply too much, and it will crease like the others. Of course, I forgot to mention, that to prevent the other shades from creasing, a light dab of powder eyeshadow over it should do the trick if you have normal or dry eyelids. This shade works well as a bronzer, but I wouldn’t recommend it for contouring owing to the shimmer it contains. Works well down both sides of the nose only if followed up with a matte pressed powder. I like this shade best as a bronzer. As for lips, works better than the other shades, gives a warm golden peachy lip colour.

Let’s come to the pros and cons:

Pros of NARS The Multiple Mini Set – South Beach, Orgasm, Copacabana:

• A good option if you want to try these before buying the full sizes.
• Convenient and sleek to carry around in your handbag and also for travelling.
• Multi-purpose – for eyes, cheeks and lips.
• Applies smoothly and is quite pigmented.
• Blends well and evenly.
• A little goes a long way.

Cons of NARS The Multiple Mini Set – South Beach, Orgasm, Copacabana:

• Creases on oily lids when used as an eyeshadow.
• A bit drying when used on the lips.

Final Verdict:

For someone on the run, the Multiple is the best product to use. It has a very velvety texture that make you look great in a few minutes!
