Do you ever go through a color obsession? Ever feel like wearing the same shade over and over again until everyone but you gets tired of seeing it on you? Well, I’ve been fixated on hot pink and fuchsia for a longest time. It’s an obsession I just can’t shake off. Any time I try a new lip or cheek product, I always gravitate toward the fuchsia and or hot pink shades. So, when it came to picking a NARS product as a gift from IMBB, I (to no one’s surprise) picked up a shocking, hot pink gloss. This one’s called “Priscilla” (pretty tame name for such a bright color, right?) and to see how it performs, read on!

It also “assists with anti-aging and lavishes lips in a full spectrum of shades. Nourishing ingredients moisturize, leaving lips smooth and soft.” And “the doe-foot applicator glides smoothly with comfort and precision for long-lasting wear.”
The shade Priscilla is described as a “shocking pink.”
My Take on NARS Priscilla Lip Gloss
I haven’t been the biggest lip gloss fan for the longest time, mainly because it reminds me of my mid-teens, when super glossy lips, sometimes with chunks of glitter, were all the rage. I guess over time I’ve associated them with a younger age group. Lately, however, I’ve been trying more glosses, and am always looking for gloss that isn’t super shimmery or glittery. I picked Priscilla because it was well within my comfort zone (yes, “shocking pink” is comfort zone for me). Even though the shade is super bright, I find it pretty wearable, especially when I wear one coat. The color is buildable and while one swipe gives my lips medium coverage, 2 coats make it pretty opaque. I’m wearing one coat in the daytime photo below, and two in the night time (with flash) photo. Overall, this color will suit most desi skin tones, as long as you have no reservations about wearing bright colors. I have a couple of desi outfits I can’t wait to wear it with!
The best part about this lip gloss is the formula. The lip gloss glides easily on the lips and the color goes on evenly. This lip gloss is super moisturizing and regardless of the condition your lips are in when you apply it, it will leave them feeling softer and smoother. The lip gloss does not feel heavy or tacky, and I often forget that I’m even wearing gloss! Overall, this gloss makes my lips look incredibly healthy and although I’m not sure about its anti-aging properties, it does fill up the lines and make them look “juicier.” The applicator is amazing and the size is perfect to maneuver it around the lips for precise application.
The gloss lasts on my lips for about 3 hours before it starts wearing down to a stain. The stain is a deep pink shade that, although isn’t as bright as the gloss, is still very pretty. Although, the formula is smooth and glides on my lips, it doesn’t bleed out of my lip line. The gloss is not sticky or goopy. One of my pet peeves is my hair getting stuck on my gloss and I’m more than happy to say that this is super smooth and my hair can fly all around my face and not get stuck on this! It does start to feel a teeny bit sticky as its wearing down, but it’s barely noticeable. This lip gloss has no fragrance or taste. It transfers a bit on to food and drink; but that’s expected from a gloss. Bottom line is, this is a really great formula that’s bound to please both lip gloss junkies and those who, much like me, are looking to rediscover wearing gloss. This color, although super bright, will flatter most skin tones, especially tan skin (I love it on my NC40 skin tone!). It retails for $26, which isn’t super cheap, but totally worth because of the quality. I will definitely buy this lip gloss again and again and again…I think you get my flow 😉

I’ve been on the Fuchsia and Red Fuchsia trip for the longest time too! Every second lip product I pick is this colour! Loved the Lip gloss…its such a pretty hot pink! Right up my alley!!
