It’s been a while now that I have reviewed any makeup product, so let’s just take a break from all the skincare rambling for a while now and discuss one of my favourite lip product. I have been a huge fan of NARS lip pencil for a while now. The first shade that I bought was “yu” and since then my love for NARS lip pencils have been growing. I have quite a few lip pencils now, and NARS offer satin and matte formulated lip pencils. The shade that I will be reviewing today is Timanfaya.

My Experience with NARS Satin Lip Pencil – Timanfaya:
NARS Satin Lip Pencil comes housed in a matte black chubby stick packaging. It is not retractable so, you have to sharpen it whenever it’s required. The end of the Lip Pencil is colour coded. The name of the brand and shade is printed in white fonts around the pencil.
NARS lip pencil is one of my favourites among other lip pencils. These are jumbo pencils which cover the larger area in a single swipe and takes less time to cover the entire lips, unlike the regular lip pencils. The formulation of NARS Satin lip pencil is highly pigmented and is buildable. These offer medium to full coverage with a satin finish on the lips.
These glide on very easily and feels very lightweight and comfortable on the lips. I didn’t notice any bleeding or feathering which is a major concern for some people. It makes your lips look fuller, plumper and smoother. It does not settle into fine lines of the lips but, you need to exfoliate your lips before applying this since, it clings on to the dry patches on the lips.
The shade Timanfaya is a bright vibrant orange shade with golden micro shimmers. The shimmers are not chunky and give a nice sheen to the lips. This will look stunning on fair to medium skin tones. Not only the formula is stunning but, the staying power is also great. I get full 5 to 5.5 hours of wear time without any drinking or eating. These do fade when you eat or drink but, it leaves a stain behind so your lips won’t look flat even if it’s worn off a little bit.

- It covers more area of the lips than a regular lip pencil does.
Cons of NARS Satin Lip Pencil – Timanfaya:
- For some people, sharpening will be bothersome.
- Clings on to dry patches.
