NARS is a luxury high-end brand with very good quality packaging and products. A makeup artist & photographer Francois Nars started this makeup line. Initially, it was only seven lipsticks and now its best selling list includes blushes, lipsticks, bronzers and world famous eye shadows. Here, I am reviewing ‘The Multiple – Luxor’.
My take on Nars The Multiple – Luxor:
Packaging:
It is a black roll on stick with rubberized exterior. On the outside, it looks very sophisticated. The cap closes softly but securely. Even if the cap, by chance, shifts the product would not be harmed as it rolls deep in its base. On its base exterior ‘NARS’ is printed in large font. The diameter and length of the packaging is quite large (15 inch X 4 inch approximately). It looks bulky. The amount of product is only 14 gm, which seems so less especially in such a huge packaging with an expensive price tag. At the bottom, there is a silver sticker, which has shade, weight, manufacturing details etc. printed. There is no mirror or applicator provided.
Price:
$39 (approximately INR 2400)
Texture:
It is a cream-based product that dries to powder. Much like the ‘ELF all over color stick in golden peach’ I reviewed. NARS is little bit creamier than ELF one. You definitely need to set it with translucent powder. The product is not emollient though. The creaminess is given so that it melts with the warmth of the skin, when applied. Having said that, it is easily blend-able. It can be built up as well. It can be used as a strobe cream below or over moisturizer. The latest makeup trend has been focusing on strobing these days so this is an excellent product for that. Apart from this there are no visible shimmer. The texture is soft. I accidentally nicked the product with my nail.
Pigmentation:
The product is quite pigmented. This does not mean it is over the top but it gives a beautiful iridescent pink glow. It will suit medium to dark skin complexion people. On lighter complexion people, it will not show up. It can be used under or over cream blushes. Unlike the ELF multiple, this can be used on eyes and lips too, as it does dry the area. One single swatch packs on a lot of product. My favorite way of application is using fingers as it melts the product. If you want to be hygienic you can use a synthetic stipple brush but use it with a light hand.
Staying power:
It holds good for up to 7-8 hours on my skin after setting. Without setting it will fade soon, as it is creamy. When applied under any product, it holds up till the product starts fading. On the lips, when applied for three dimensional effect it does the same, hold up as long as lipstick stays. For the eyes, it is bit tricky as I have used it without setting the cream or applying primer. It faded and the product started moving on my oily lids and melting down.
Pros of Nars The Multiple – Luxor :
- Nice luxurious packaging
- Very natural glow
- Nicely pigmented
- Decent staying power
- Soft smooth texture
- Multi-tasker
Cons of Nars The Multiple – Luxor :
- Price tag
- Less amount of product
IMBB Rating:
4.8/5
Would I recommend NARS The Multiple – Luxor to everyone?
Yes, I would be recommending this product to everyone. It is a good product to have in your collection. It is on the pricey side so do not suggest it as a must-have. You can find many dupes for this in the market. NARS is the company who started this trend so it deserves appreciation for that for sure.
