Ingredients:

Mica, Talc, Zinc Stearate, Mineral Oil, 2-Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Tridecyl Trimellitate, B.H.T., Methylparaben, and Propylparaben. NYX introduced these gorgeous palettes as part of their “Caribbean Collection” and each one is named after an island in the Caribbeans. I’ve never been a fan of pastel/bright eye shadows, but since these were available at throwaway prices online, I decided to grab a few to experiment with, one of which happens to be the palette christened “I dream of St Thomas.”

The palette consists of five nicely pigmented and vibrant shadows which are a bit soft textured; however, without being too powdery. The first is a charcoal grey, then a bright girly pink, a pretty silver, a warm beige and an effervescent green. All the shadows have a frosty finish and they blend beautifully. The green is one of the most gorgeous ones I’ve come across and so is the pink, both apt for a bright smokey eye. Though they show up well in swatches, they fail to show up much on my lids, so I use the NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk over my primer which makes these colours pop.

Initially, I was quite apprehensive of wearing the bright shades outside and then an awesome tutorial by Sahar here gave me the courage to actually try different looks with these beauties.

Without a primer, they stay for barely three hours on my oily lids (even MAC shadows manage to crease on me within a few hours), but their longevity is quite impressive over a good primer.

The shadows come in a sturdy black case and are compact enough for travel, reminds me of Sleek Palettes. The case houses a mirror as well as two sponge applicators which apart from being ugly are useless too. Each shadow is slightly bigger than a standard MAC eye shadow (1.3 g) and you get 8 gm of product for USD 8.50.

I got this at USD 9.99 for two + USD 4.99 shipping from an ebay seller, quite a steal, huh!!

Yes, if you are a beginner or if you would like to experiment with bright shades without breaking the bank.
