Yesterday, I went to my local Ulta with nothing particular in mind, only because I was dying to buy some makeup products. Mauve and brown lipstick shades are my new-found love and I picked up a couple of shades from NYX and Wet n Wild. Here’s my take on the shade “Flutter Kiss” from NYX.

My Take on NYX Flutter Kiss High Voltage Lipstick:
I happen to notice that this range of NYX lipsticks have not been reviewed yet on IMBB, so let me do the honors of introducing these size zero beauties that come in 22 different shades and are absolutely adorable. Since these beauties are so puny, I didn’t even notice them in the NYX aisle and was busy browsing through the other ranges, but then, I did stumble upon them and can’t thank my fate enough that I did try them. Although, I blame Ulta for stashing these awesome lipsticks in the dreary bottom of the rack because they deserve more limelight.
Packaging: The packaging looks a little cheap and fragile, especially because of flimsy clear plastic cap, but having said that, I feel it serves the purpose and helps to choose the shade of color one wants to wear. It has a twist up mechanism and the product is in the form of a skinny stub.
Formula and Texture: This is the best part. The texture is super creamy and glides like a dream. It is not hyper glossy but has minimal sheen and one can get a matte look by blotting with a tissue. Also, this particular shade has a very mild chocolate fragrance.
Color: It is a light beige color with pink undertones, this particular shade will go on fair and medium skin tones but not suitable for dark skin tones.
Pigmentation and Staying Power: These lipsticks are extremely pigmented and a single swipe gives a very intense color. For me, this shade didn’t budge but did require touch ups between the meals, especially since it is so creamy.

- It’s the perfect nude shade for my skin tone.
- It goes well with dark eye makeup.
- Without color coordinated eye makeup, it might look washed out.
Cons of NYX Flutter Kiss High Voltage Lipstick:
- Packaging can be a little fragile.
- Staying power could have been better.
Would I Repurchase NYX Flutter Kiss High Voltage Lipstick?
Oh yes and can’t wait to try out other shades like Hollywood and Flawless. I would ask others to flock to the nearest store and go grab one right away.
