I was on a hunt for an affordable black eyeliner for a very long time. So when a popular youtuber suggested NYX Tre’s Jolie Gel eyeliner, I thought I would give it a try. Today, I will be reviewing NYX Tre’s Jolie Gel eyeliner in the shade “Pitch Black.”

My Experience with NYX Tres Jolie Gel Pencil Liner Pitch Black:
The NYX Tre’s Jolie Gel eyeliner in Pitch Black comes in a twist up ombre white and black plastic pencil with a black cap. The side of the pen has NYX Tre’s Jolie written on it in bold black letters. The product comes in white cardboard box. The product name ‘Pitch black’ is mentioned below. The pencil comes with a sharpener attached at the bottom which is very useful to sharpen the tip of the pencil. The packaging is very lightweight and travel friendly. The pencil is super slender and sleek, which makes the storage easy. Overall, I really like the packaging.
The texture of the gel liner is very creamy matte. However it does feel tuff when I apply it on my upper eyelid. The liner glides so smoothly on my lower eye. I find the gel-based formula very comparable to high-end eyeliners. The eyeliner dries very fast, and once applied, it won’t budge. The eyeliner is super pigmented and very opaque. Two swipes will give you full coverage. I found it very tough to draw a wing with this eyeliner. I think a liquid eyeliner is better to draw a wing then a gel pencil liner.
The shade, as mentioned, is “Pitch Black.” I love this shade. It gives my eyes a smokey alluring look. It’s a good everyday shade. The liner is water resistant. The eyeliner stays on my oily eyelids for a good 3 to 4 hour. It starts to fade from the inner corners first. Even after setting the eyeliner with a black eyeshadow, I find the eyeliner smudging on my lower lash line.
The liner is not very long wearing. I can easily remove this eyeliner with an oil-based makeup remover. I mainly use coconut oil to remove my eye makeup and it works really well. Overall, I found the NYX Tre’s jolie gel eyeliner to be good but there are way better black gel liners in the market. I adore the Lakme gel liner. This is nothing compared to the Lakme and Maybelline eyeliners.
