Skin Type: dry and sensitive
I am back with another post. This time, I thought of reviewing a recent purchase I made from Walgreens. I am not a lipstick person frankly speaking, but I do love hoarding them and eventually they just lie around my shelf unused until the time comes to toss them out. This is the first time I have purchased a product from the brand Rimmel. I am more of a lip balm person, but I really don’t understand what made me buy this lipstick, that too in a really different shade than what I normally prefer – that is the corals and baby pinks. The shade I picked up is called “Berry Rose.” Read on for more details on this lipstick.
Product Description (From Website):
It’s Raining Color! And lips are Getting Drenched! Ready to pamper your lips with luxuriously moisturized rich color for a soft, cared-for, hydrated feel day after day? Rimmel introduces its new and improved Moisture Renew Lipstick for a brilliant burst of rich, pure color, infused with a monsoon of creamy moisture.
My Experience with Rimmel London Berry Rose Moisture Renew Lipstick:
Packaging: This lipstick comes in a silver bullet with a square-shaped base, the cap is slightly sheer purple color and has an angled top with engraving of Rimmel on it. On the bottom of the packaging, there’s a sticker that has the name of the shade of lipstick. The sticker is color coded and corresponds with the color of the lipstick. I am not sure why but I feel there a slight color difference in the sticker and the actual shade of the lipstick. Word of caution while buying this lipstick would be to not trust the sticker and rather test out the shade.
Shade: “Berry Rose” is a pretty berry color with a glossy finish. It’s more on the pinkish side unlike the typical berry shades which more or less lean towards red. The shade “Berry Rose” is a blue-based raspberry pink with a pinky-silver metallic sheen.
Fragrance: This lipstick has a pretty floral/baby powder scent. However, it is not overpowering after a few hours of wear, but you do get whiffs of the scent. If scents bother you, you may not like this lipstick.
Texture, Quality and Benefits: The texture of this lipstick is really soft and smooth. It has a very buttery texture when applied on the lips. I have extremely dry lips which are half of the time chapped. This is one reason why I hate lipsticks since they tend to settle down into the fine lines, but somehow this lipstick manages to moisturize my lips on application. I have never felt the need to apply the lipstick along with a lip balm.
The formula of this lipstick is lightweight. This particular shade applies semi-opaque with one swipe and fully opaque with two or more. I wore this lipstick for 3 hours before I actually began to notice fading. Reapplication is a must after 3 hours and more. It’s definitely not a long-wearing formula, but that was evident due to its overly moisturizing property. Also, lastly, this lipstick does not feather around the edges of my lips, but using a lip liner could do you no harm.
Overall, this is a very good moisturizing lipstick that would be suitable for women with chapped lips like me. Also, this particular shade “Berry Rose” is such a unique and different shade.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Rimmel London Berry Rose Moisture Renew Lipstick?
I don’t think I would repurchase this product although I did like it. Somehow, I don’t like splurging on lipsticks as much as I would on tinted lip balms. I guess I like the natural and light feel on my lips using lip balms whereas lipsticks are always a hassle when they settle down into fine lines and with frequent reapplication. If you like moisturizing lipsticks and lipsticks that have an average staying power, then you could go ahead and buy it, not a bad investment though 🙂
