My Experience with Sugar Cosmetics Matte As Hell Crayon Lipstick Stephanie Plum:

The product is housed in Sugar Cosmetic’s iconic matte graphic cardboard box. It bears the shade name, price and ingredients. It also comes with its own free sharpener, and this is a good addition as not all sharpeners cater to all lip crayon sizes. The lip crayon comes in a matte black packaging with the bottom of the crayon bearing the shade, which is useful in picking out a certain colour among multiple lip crayons from this brand. The cap closes down well, but I am extra careful while opening the crayon as I want to avoid nicking the top of the pencil. The crayon does sometimes get messy. I also don’t store it in the box, as sometimes the cap comes off while taking it out.

“Stephanie Plum” is aptly described as a plum mauve shade. It is a very basic everyday colour, something that can be worn daily other than nude or brown shades. On me, it looks pinkish.

The crayon itself is not too thin and not too thick for me. In two or three swipes, I can easily line and fill my lips. The texture of the crayon is ultra-smooth. No pressure is required during application. This crayon sets into a smudge-proof finish within seconds. It has a comfortable matte texture. It glides on the lips without tugging or pulling. The colour payoff is amazing too. It does not budge at all, except when I eat something. It is transfer proof to an extent.

The only problem is that if this crayon is not sharpened properly, it may not give neat lines. Sometimes, it even looks grainy on the lips. So, if you have thin lips, you have to be extra careful by lining the lips with a lip liner first. Also, sharpening the product to give a pointy tip does lead to product wastage. I feel at this price, the product should have been retractable in exchange for the free sharpener.
