A few months ago, Sugar Cosmetics added few new shades to their Matte As Hell Crayon Lipstick range and I wanted to try Princess Peach ever since. This is one of the best peach lipsticks for medium skin tones. Now, let’s get into the review.

My Experience with Sugar Cosmetics Matte As Hell Crayon Lipstick 09 Princess Peach:
Packaging:
The lipstick comes in a pretty black crayon form with a black cap and it has a color-coded end that indicates the shade. As usual, it has a graphical outer box as well. Each crayon comes with a sharpener, which works smoothly. Though this pencil requires to be sharped frequently there is less wastage during sharpening. Overall, I like the packaging.
Shade and Pigmentation:
This range has so many beautiful shades and the shade 09 Princess Peach is a beautiful true peach color with a warm undertone. Unlike most peach shades this one doesn’t wash out my skin tone. It looks absolutely beautiful and has a very subtle tone to it. I can call it a great daily wear nude peach shade that looks super fresh. It’s, in fact, a perfect summer shade.
It might wash out dusky beauties but is a great shade for fair to medium tanned skin tones. This lipstick has good pigmentation and I can build up the color to get that perfect color pay off on the lips. Two-three swipes are required for the true color to show up. This shade can hide lip pigmentation too.
Texture and Quality:
This crayon has a soft and smooth texture that glides effortlessly on the lips without any tugging. It has a beautiful powder matte finish. It doesn’t feel too dry on the lips but isn’t too hydrating either, especially in winters. My lips feel a bit dry after a couple of hours but a lip balm can solve this issue. Also, it does not feel heavy or patchy on the lips.
It clings slightly to dry patches, so I would recommend exfoliating your lips for better application. The formula feels good, and it doesn’t transfer or smudge a lot. Also, it never settles into the fine lines. It bleeds slightly from the inner lip line if you layer too much product. Hence, it’s better to use a lip liner for the perfect long-lasting look.
Staying Power:
The lipstick lasts quite long – around 6 to 7 hours – with normal food. With a heavy meal, it starts to fade evenly from the centre and a reapplication is required after that. I don’t mind reapplying the color as it never feels patchy or heavy. It can be removed easily with a remover and it doesn’t leave any stain behind either.
Overall:
I really like this range a lot, especially this beautiful peach shade. The formula works quite well for me, hence I adore it too much. This lipstick is slightly expensive but worth every penny.
