This Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick comes in the sweetest packaging. The tube is like a cardboard type of material covered with a beautiful floral print. I’ve mentioned this before, but I am a sucker for cute and girly packaging and this one takes the number one spot in my collection. It fits right in perfectly for the current Spring weather.
My Experience with Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Watermelon
The color that I chose was, ‘Watermelon’. I was looking for a perfect shade for the Spring season and I found just the one. This shade is a redish-pink shade. It is neither fully red nor fully pink, its right in between just like a watermelon. The shade is very pigmented, what you see in the tube is what you will get on your lips. From the looks of it, it seemed like a matte lipstick but actually it gives off a shiny and glossy finish but nothing over the top. The texture is very smooth and it glides on easily.
Tarte claims it to contain Capuaca butter, Mururu butter and Shea butter. To be honest it does not seem like it contains any kinds of butter. Now don’t get me wrong, the lipstick does not dry out my lips but it does not moisturize my lips like a butter based lipstick would. It has decent amount of creamy consistency but I feel it can be more since they claim it to contain butter.
Aside from that the staying power is decent too. It stayed on my lips for up to 2 hours without moving and after that it depends if I am eating or drinking something then it would come off right away. If not then it would come off a while later. I feel some people might have a problem with the lasting quality because it is a $16 dollar lipstick so they might expect more. Though, I don’t really mind that it does not last me all that long because I just love the color payoff and the cute packaging and after all , I can just reapply when I need to.
Overall, this is a good lipstick and the color is just what I have been looking for in this Spring weather!
