Tarte has launched an attractive range of “H2O” lip glosses under their “Rainforest of the Sea” collection. The glosses are water based and packed with ocean-sourced nutrients. In this post, I am going to talk about “Tarte Rainforest of the Sea H2O” lip gloss in the shade “Fiji.”

My Experience with Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Collection H2O Lip Gloss Fiji:
Tarte has launched a super shiny lip gloss collection and these glosses have moisturizing and hydrating elements of their “Rainforest Lipstick” collection, but these glosses have an ultra-shiny finish. The water-based lip glosses are infused with ingredients sourced from the sea, like antioxidant-rich marine plant extracts. Other ingredients include emollient aloe and vitamin E for extra nourishment. They also have concentrated mineral pigments which deliver solid full-coverage color while keeping lips soft with a super glossy shine.
The packaging of this gloss is so beautiful, it comes in a transparent tube. The cap has fine detailing with turquoise and gold ombre with texture drops that resemble water droplets for a wet look. The wand has a flat oval applicator that allows you to apply the gloss evenly.’
There are a total of 14 shades in this collection. They feature holographic, metallic, cream, and pearlescent finishes to provide intense, super-lacquered shine. Each color bears a vacation-themed tropical name like Fiji, Maui, Maldives, etc.
“Fiji” is described as holographic opal color with an aqua shift, which is pretty true. It looks like holographic, clear gloss with pearlescent blue shift. If worn alone, it looks like a holographic blue gloss, but I prefer to wear it on top of a lipstick as it adds a nice intense shine and a blue shift to the base color.
The formula on this gloss is pretty good. It smoothes tiny lines and plumps lips without it being sticky. The consistency of this gloss is a bit thick and applies well on the lips and looks amazing as a lip topper. The formula doesn’t feather or bleed. It is comfortable to wear alone or when paired with a lipstick.
I usually wear lipsticks as a base to neutralize the pigmentation in my lips. The gloss is a bit sheer as it is super holographic. I like the gloss but this particular shade will look amazing as a lip topper because of the blue shift.
The staying power is around two hours and this gloss fades when we consume food or drink. Frequent reapplication is necessary, but that’s okay, as most glosses have the same staying power.
Overall, this is a decent gloss and will recommend it to everyone.

I like the formula, but wouldn’t get this shade, I will try other colors.
