Hello to all the gorgeous ladies on IMBB,
I am Sonia from Bangalore and have been hooked to this blog ever since I came across it. I totally love the way everyone tries to help out one another here.:) I had a query regarding treatments and remedies possible for acne pits and scars on the face.
Unfortunately, I have a lot of small scars and pits on my face that look like small holes. These are very depressing and are creating dents in my self confidence too. I have heard and read about lasers and fillers that can be considered for such scars. I have absolutely no clue regarding the effectiveness or reliability of any of these treatments. Please help me out regarding the treatments that I should consider and their efficacy. Also, please tell me where I can get these done in Bangalore.
Kindly help me out on this.
Tithi….I have heard of fillers which cost pretty reasonable and you should consult a good cosmetic surgeon in your city to learn more O:)

I do not know much about the pits..but I have been suffering from a lot of acne and hence the scars ans some pits too…but I have too many scars on my face that I get depressed everytime I look into the mirror. I am not getting a chemical peel done for my acne and the acne scars. The doctor has told me that the pits that I have will also reduce with the chemical peel that I am getting done. So first consult a doctor and he would tell you what can be done. After listening to your doctor you can make your decision, but for scars I think chemical peel works great, like it is for me! :yahoo: :yahoo:

I’m in Bangalore too and have the same problem, I’ve tried so many treatments and doctors, finally the best doctor I found is Dr. Mukta Shachdev whose treatment center is off Cambridge road/Indiranagar
She knew immediately my problem was internal and once we sorted that I was left with scars to clear up. She gave me options, laser, microdermabrasion(which is what I opted for as it was the safest and recovery was quicker) I still need quite a few more sittings but even with a few there is such a difference and people have mentioned it too. A consultation is I think Rs.800, maybe a little pricey for treatments and creams but worth it to me. Hope this helps

The best person to advice you is ur doc. Its better that u go and seek medication from a well known tried and tested doctor. I too suffered from bad acne, for which I sought medical advice, and now my skin is in a much better condition. The doc will advice you regdg the treatment for ur scars depending on the severity of the pits.
a couple of home remedies which you can try are;
1. rub a slice of raw potato on ur scars and leave it for around half an hour or so.
2. apply the pulp of tomato on ur scars and keep for 15-20 minutes and wash.
these 2 are well known home remedies, but you will have to religiously follow them for about 2-3 months.

Hi. I had consulted VLCC for the fillers for scars. It is quite expensive and does not last long. You need to get it done every few years. I think chemical peels should be the right treatment. Consult a doctor. Even VLCC gets these treatments done but they try to upsell and if you are not sure, you could be taken for a ride by paying too much.
iv heard chemical peels cause hyper-pigmentation .
You should consult some good dermatologist for pitted scars to find permanent solution and do discuss pros/cons of it.

Hey ayesha thanks a Ton… Will definitely go to Dr Sachdev . Could you please Tell me if your scars were pitted scars or superficial ones. Also döes it have any Short Term Side Effects and how Long döes it take to subside?
I did laser treatment for acne scars when my acne subsided 3-4 yrs back.. I was recommended for 5-6 sittings with a gap of 7 days in between, costs Rs.700 for each sitting (not sure how much it costs now).. It lightens the scars faster than any medicinal cream.. Initially u would get redness but will subside soon.. I could see the difference within 2-3 sittings.. :happydance: But one cannot expect complete disappearance of scars.. :smug: And now have got acne again, would leave scars for sure.. :yikes:
Heya lakshmi thank u:) but doesn’t laser cause any skin darkening as such?
I’ve no idea of fillers.. but laser treatment is different from microdermabrasion..

rubbing tomato on your face twice a day will definitely help you a lot..i actually scratched away nd tried to pull out some blackheads from my cheeks on my own..and then i was left wid really bad luking marks on my facee…
since then i’ve been rubbing half slice on tomato on my face..once in the morning n once in the evening..and them wash it off when it dries..u’l surely see some resulsts within a week or so!

Derma roller will help you to fill up your pits. and to tighten up open pores if any. After some session in clinic you can use derma roller yourself also. Derma roller is one time investment of Rs. 3000-8000/- depending upon the roller you buy.
Hi Tithi , u tried something finally which helped you in pitted scars… i too have heard of fillers… derma rollers don’t work for pitted or ice pick scars will work for rolling or boxcar maybe…
Also non abrasive treatment is aplying Retinol-A …they help in peeling and plumping of skin to make them less viisble…
Let me know what your doc advised.
I would like to know Tithi , what have u finally tried , which doctor did u go and results after the different treatments ?
