Today I am here with my first review of “Biotique” and my pick is a gloss. Let’s see how it fared for me.

Details: Biotique products are made incorporating the ancient Ayurvedic therapies along with the latest bio-technological innovations. The brand intends to bring you cosmetics and skin care products that are non-toxic and completely safe.

Price: INR 360 for 7.5 ml.

Packaging: The gloss comes in a long, transparent gloss bottle. The gloss bottle is made of thin plastic material, which looks really cheap and not up to the level for the price we pay. It has the regular long, tapered doe- applicator in it; I feel long handle of the applicator eases the gloss application.

My take on Biotique Bio Color Lip Gloss in Veronica

Shade: ‘Veronica’ is a pale bubblegum pink shade, without any bluish undertones and is completely shimmer free but it does have a glossy sheen to it. I think this kind of pink is really a MLBB kind of shade and will suit wide range of skin tones, it’ll not wash out dusky skin tones, quit a toned down, natural pink shade.

Texture & Smell: The gloss is really smooth & creamy in texture, the consistency is thick but the stickiness can’t be felt on lips, it’s really light weight on lips, though it feels a little waxy on lips, but that’s because of the hydrating formula of the gloss. The application is pretty smooth & even on lips. The gloss has the sort of “coco nutty biscuit” smell to it. May be the smell is of some medicinal extract in it. It’s really overpowering & lingers for a few minutes on lips.

Pigmentation & Finish: The gloss is decently pigmented being only a gloss; it gives a good plush of color in 1 swipe, but can be built up more if you a little more color, the gloss won’t build. It hides flaws of lips, I can’t say about severely pigmented lips, but the moisturizing formula of it helps smoothes dry lips, which can lessen the appearance of dark & gives them a healthy look. The gloss is shimmer free but the finish is really very glossy, with a nice sheen. It gives the illusion of fuller, pouty lips.

Staying Power: I didn’t have expected the gloss would stay so decently on me. It stayed on me for 3.5 – 4 hrs, with light meals and mild fading in the last hours. The color won’t stay with heavy meals.

• A very pretty bubblegum pink, without any blue undertones & shimmers in it.
• Will suit every skin tone. Without making wash out.
• Everyday wearable shade, it’s a MLBB pink shade.
• Texture is creamy & smooth.
• You’ll really prefer it if you like shimmer free glosses.
• Long handle of the applicator applies the color smoothly & evenly on lips.
• Pigmentation is very good. One swipe is enough for normal lips & pigmented lips would need 2 swipes of it.
• The formula is really very hydrating.
• Though the consistency is thick & smooth, it’ll not feel heavy on lips.
• Give the illusion of pouty lips.
• Staying power is excellent for 3-4 hrs, considering it’s a gloss.
• Company claims the product to be non- toxic.
• Decently priced for the quality & quantity of the product.

Cons of Biotique Bio Color Lip Gloss- Veronica:

• The overpowering coco nutty smell of the gloss can bother some sensitive noses. The smell reminds me of the color crayons that I used in my childhood.
• The packaging looks very cheap; the gloss bottle is not made of strong fiber type materials.

Recommendation: Yes, I’ll definitely suggest this gloss & shade to every one of you. I personally didn’t have expected much from it, but the product turned out to be a real winner. The price is decent comparing to other glosses available in the market, like ‘Lakme’, ‘Faces’, ‘Lotus’ and all. Though this will be little difficult to get, but do check your nearest retail counter.
