  1. Hi Samreen,

You should go for it before its too late. Beyond 25, it’s a difficult to retain the teeth in place after removing the braces and you would have to wear it for a longer time, maybe for one and half to two years. So,now is the time ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Hey samreen….cudnt resit commenting on this post.
Dear u can very well try braces at this age… n regarding time period. ..it depends on the severity of the case. But being a dentist myself I wud suggest u to go for the treatment. I myself had undergone treatment post marriage. .. n it took round abt 11/2 yrs to complete the treatment. …but the after results were amazing. .. so basically it was worth it to take all the pain n inconvenience. Best wishes.

  3. Hi samreen, it is generally advisable to get braces done at an early age, if u need one,but u see ,so many advancements have been made in the medical fields that everything seems easy now! I am 29 n I am considering braces n my dentist has suggested 6 months to 1 yrs time for the complete process ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Well I am a live example of having braces at 21.. ๐Ÿ˜€ I got the ceramic ones done.. Cz they are less visible but expensive than metallic. Braces were on fr 1.5years and post that retainers for almost 1 year. I am on a retainer phase right now. You have to be really sure cz you cnt back out b/w the treatment. Trust me its worth the pain. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Even i was very confused before having braces.I am 25,and i am having braces last 1.5 year.
It cost aprox 20000-25000 for whole treatment.

  6. hey samreen..m 22 years old and have put on the ceramic ones..the entire procedure is costing me 50k and the duration is 1 1/2 years…It involves the extraction of my 4 teeth also…But i must tell you its completely worth it…You should go for it as its not too late for you.. ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Hey ya i have a doubt. I m planning to get braces too!! But will it just put my teeth in place or the jaw line too. Because i feel that my jawline is also protruding.

  8. Samreen I got braces when I was 27 and my teeth showed amazing results! Had to extract 4 teeth and keep the braces on for 1.5 years. Retainers post that for 4 months or so and my teeth were in perfect shape! It cost me 48000. You can totally go for it now. Good luck!

  9. I don’t think there should be any problem as long as you are willing to go through the entire process with patience. My aunt started this treatment in her late 40’s and successfully finished the treatment. So 20’s is no big deal

  10. hey, had to reply on this post… since childhood i had protruding teeth, but resisted and even rebelled at the suggestion of putting braces… always thought what would people think and so ugly they are.. eventually at 28 yrs i thought its my last chance to try this and so went ahead for lingual braces (the one which you put behind the tooth and not on the front) can assure you it was the best decision i ever took… it helps you soo much, dont even think twice please go ahead in your treatment.. you got nothing to loose.. im almost 30 now and wear very thin retainers which are fixed from behind again.. also i should add that hardly anyone came to know about it. its never too late, go for it samreen.

  11. M 26 and m having braces for past 26 months.you may feel odd and painfull during the initial days but believe me the pain part gets sorted out after few days. When i had my braces on for the first time,i could not eat hard things for one week and my lips used to get swollen when i woke up in the morning also ulcers is the common problem ..but all these issues are only during inital days and go away after some time.I did felt like you feel like giving up during initial days….but then what i did is just try to imagine my beautiful self after the treatment and am charged again to complete my treatment ๐Ÿ˜‰ And it is working for me..i mean i had gap between my front teeth..and that gap is closed now…my yet to see the final result but my satisfied with the treatment up till now..it costed me 30k. painfull, long, costly but still effective and fruitfull treatment so my two cents is GO FOR IT !! ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. thanku jomol di for putting this up … nd thanks ol beautiful nd so much helpful ladies …. nw I m definetly going for it …. I think I might start my treatment in December because I will be having 3 monthes winter vacations … which vl help me in dealing with initial pain associated with it…. nd also I wud lyk to add I m going for the treatment via a dental colege which wont cost me much …. I guess It is good decision …

  13. hey, I had put braces at the age of 22. it usually takes a bit more time. I really mean ‘bit’ .. may be by 6 months more time than usual. trust me girl its better be late than never when it comes to braces. I have been through that. when u get compliments later , u ll feel it was worth the pain. ๐Ÿ™‚ cost depends on the dentist. u ll need to visit every month to tighten it. that day it pains more but next day u ll b fine.. ๐Ÿ™‚
