I have been such an ardent lover of Chambor powder matte lipsticks that when I realized this is a new shade that has been launched, I quickly picked it up. Chambor’s Powder Matte has an amazing red lipstick in “Rubis Rouge,” but that is a bright red shade. “Crimson Red” is indeed a shade that was not there in their collection earlier. The last shade I bought from them was “Sugar Pink.” Read on to know whether I have the same love for “Crimson Red” as other powder matte lipsticks.

My Experience with Chambor Crimson Red Powder Matte Lipstick:
I have to say that Chambor has not only changed the packaging, even the formula is less buttery than before. I am slightly sad that they lack that extra buttery and yet powdery matte formula. Now, they feel slightly hard when compared to other buttery matte lipsticks. Nevertheless, the formula has become less cakey and still is very matte to wear.
“Crimson Red” is like a mix of brown, burgundy and red tones. It has prominent brown undertones to it. I like it for a more sophisticated look. This is a decent red you can wear anywhere, anytime. This is a safe, “not so bright red” lipstick. Rubis Rouge is a bright red option in case you need something to brighten your face.
Crimson Red is more mature and will go very well with warm and dusky skin tones too. The lipstick is smooth but not buttery. It is much pigmented, so no need to layer it on and on. This is definitely on the dry side. I have a blocked nose now and I have to inhale with my mouth, and I can feel I am craving a lip balm. So yes, dry lips may not be that fond of this range.
Overall, a nice brownish red shade to own in a matte formula, but you might have seen many buttery mattes out there already these days.

Cons of Chambor Crimson Red Powder Matte Lipstick:
- Feels dry on the lips.
- It lacks that buttery texture that previous powder mattes had.
- Not a “face-brightening” red shade.
Would I Recommend/Repurchase Chambor Crimson Red Powder Matte Lipstick?
If you find a more buttery red in this price range, go for that lipstick. If you are a loyal Chambor powder matte customer, than buy this one.
