My Experience with Cover Girl Clean Glow Blush – Roses:

The CoverGirl Clean Glow Blush comes in two variants – “Roses” and “Peaches.” They also have a bronzer called “Spices” in this range. I chose the ‘Roses’ one as I wanted a rosy blush. This is a blush trio, with three blush shades in one pack, ranging from the lightest to the darkest colors.

Packaging:

The blush comes in a round plastic case with a transparent lid which closes securely. It is travel friendly, though you may not want to carry such a huge blush with you! The transparent lid makes it easier to see the blush color without opening the lid. There is no mirror or brush provided with this blush.

Color:

The Clean Glow ‘Roses’ blush contains 3 shades – a pale pink, a pale peach and a deep rose. You can use these colors separately or create a custom color of your own by mixing the colors you like.

Pigmentation:

This is the most disappointing aspect of this blush! It is really sheer and there is very less color payoff. You have to swipe multiple times to get this product to show. Using the two lighter colors individually is definitely not an option for me. I can only use the darkest color individually!

As far as mixing the shades go, again, the mix of all 3 shades is very light for my skin. The medium and dark colors mixed together make a reasonably wearable color for me. But I usually prefer to wear the darkest color by itself! It gives a very natural and pretty rosy glow when blended.

You get 12 g of blush in this one pack, which is quite a lot! But since I use only the darkest color, only one-third of the pack is usable for me, at least as a blush! Maybe I should try using the two pale colors as eye shadows!

Texture and Finish:

This blush claims to be a “lightweight blendable matte color.” This is quite true. The texture of this blush is quite soft. This is supposed to give you a “matte glow” and I agree that it does that exactly. It is not flat matte, but has a satin-like finish. It is great for my oily skin. It does not contain any shimmer and has a silky texture that blends easily.

Longevity:

The blush lasts for over 4 hours when used on top of a foundation on my very oily skin. I was really surprised with this! The pigmentation was so disappointing and I had to swipe multiple times for the darkest color to show. So, I was not expecting it to hang around for long! But even after 4 hours, it was still there. It faded slightly after that, but had not disappeared completely even when I checked after 6 hours of application. It would definitely last longer on not-so-oily skin.

Pros of Covergirl Clean Glow Blush – Roses:

  • Matte blush with a satiny sheen.
  • Can customize your own shade of blush.
  • Silky texture which is easy to blend.
  • Decent lasting power.
  • Good option for beginners.
  • Secure and travel-friendly packaging.

Cons of Covergirl Clean Glow Blush – Roses:

  • Average pigmentation – needs to be built up quite a bit.
  • Lighter colors may be too light to use by themselves.

IMBB Rating:

3.5/5

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Covergirl Clean Glow Blush – Roses?

Overall, I like this blush. The pigmentation is very average, but it is fool-proof for beginners! You can build up as much as you like. The lighter colors do not work for me but it may be good for people with very fair skin. I love that this blush is really matte without any shimmer, but still gives a glow. I would recommend this blush for beginners who are looking for a matte blush.
