Faces Canada Berry Brown Moisture Rich Lipstick Review

Today, I’m going to review a lipstick that has been around for a very long time. It’s the Faces Moisture Rich Lipstick in the shade Berry Brown. This one had been lying in my stash for almost over a year as I had completely forgotten about it. Then the other day while cleaning my makeup stash I chanced upon this one and pretty much liked the colour. Before moving on to the review, let me tell you all that there’s a Berry Brown in the Satin Matte range of lipsticks as well, reviewed by our lovely Neha, with the latter being slightly lighter/pinkier, so please don’t get confused between the two.

Its intense lip colors enriched with jojoba oil that cover the lips in a higher creamy coat which is long lasting and comfortable.

My Experience with Faces Berry Brown Moisture Rich Lipstick:

The lipstick comes in a big, stubby,black rectangular case with the brand name and logo printed on the front. The bottom part of the case has a removable compartment which holds a little quantity of lipstick( yes I love to dissect my makeup products and look into every minute details ) and doubles up as a shade indicator to help one find the lippie quickly in the stash which is a plus. The lipstick case click locks tightly and hence can be easily carried around for little touch ups.

 

The shade Berry Brown is a deep toned brown with pink undertones. This shade would look better on medium to dusky skin toned women as it may end on looking too brown on very fair people. Personally I’m pretty drawn to such shades when I’m not wearing my usual reds and I often wear it in a dab-dab motion for regular wear. Presently I’m undergoing my law internship and as you all know, courts are all about boring blacks and whites and the makeup needs to be really understated, so I usually wear this lippie to court to add a wee bit of colour to my face and keep the rest of my makeup really simple with kohl lined eyes and some BB cream to even out my complexion.
Coming to the texture, I would say that I’m totally in loooovvvveee with it. It’s super smooth and buttery .It applies on the lips as a creamy lipstick but after sometime it settles to a creamy matte finish. It really helps to hide the fine lines on the lips and gives a plump and luscious appearance.The lipstick has a lovely vanilla fragrance which is my favourite fragrance in lipsticks and I totally enjoy sniffing on it.

The pigmentation of the lipstick is over the roof. With one swipe the lips are filled with a burst of colour and there’s no need for a second swipe as it could end up looking cakey. In terms of staying power I would say this lipstick performs decently being a creamy one and gives a wear time of 3.5 to 4 hours without meal with slight fading in between. It disappears completely post a meal and reapplication obviously becomes a must. Due to its creamy texture it’s quite prone to transferring and that is one aspect that really annoys and embarrasses me.

So, finally as you all can see from the con(s) and the rating, I really love this lipstick a lottt and it’s my go to shade for work these days. I recommend this shade to all the medium to dusky toned girls who are always on the lookout for ‘sober’ shades for work and hate to wear nudes.
