I love Hard Candy makeup because they are great quality products with a low price tag. So when I spotted this matte lip stain from Hard Candy, I had to get it! The shade I will be reviewing today is Psychadelic. Let’s have a look!

Product Description:
Hard Candy All Matte Up Hydrating Lip Stain is a matte lip crayon that gives a crushed velvet look and feel while having the hydrating benefits of a balm and the long-wear power of stain. Long-wear color is wrapped in a balm-like base that leaves lips feeling soft and kissable all day. The formula contains tropical butters and oils to moisturize while velvety smooth powders blur and fill in fine lines. The precision tip lines lips and fills them with hydrating color to accentuate your pout. The retractable pencil never has you digging for a sharpener again.

My Experience with Hard Candy All Matte Up Hydrating Lip Stain – Psychadelic:

Packaging: This lip stain comes in a regular lip crayon packaging like the Revlon ones. The tube is pretty earthy brown colour which is colour-coded to the lip colour inside. The cap shuts tightly but not with a click sound. It has a retractable mechanism, which ensures no product wastage due to sharpening. The disturbing part is that the lipstick bullet does not retract back into the bullet completely and sticks to the sides of the tube.

Colour and pigmentation: “Psychadelic” is a beautiful cool toned bright pink shade which has a hint of purple to it. It is a gorgeous shade which can be perfectly paired up with neutral eyes or for special occasions. The lip stain has decent pigmentation which can be built without the product caking up on the lips. You can apply it with a light hand for a sheer colour pay-off or build it up as per choice.

Texture: In spite of being a matte lip crayon, this baby is quite creamy in texture and applies smoothly without any tugging or pulling. It imparts a matte finish to the lips, but not as matte and drying as a liquid lipstick. I wouldn’t say this is hydrating as claimed, but it surely does not dry out the lips. Also it does not appear very matte on the lips; it has a slight sheen to it which makes the lips look healthy.

Longevity: Considering this is a matte lipstick, it has awesome staying power and lasts on the lips for a good 6-7 hours with light snacking post which slight touch up is required. It does leave a subtle stain behind which I like.

I will surely recommend this All Matte Up Hydrating Lip Stain line from Hard Candy to all. This shade in my opinion is a gorgeous shade that can be gracefully pulled off by most Indian skin tones and can paired up with any outfit especially at this time of the year!
