By Priya Raghuwanshi

Hello,

Today I will be reviewing Kama Ayurveda Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil that I have been religiously using for months.

KAMA Ayurveda Extra Virgin coconut oil rev1

Price: Rs. 495 for 200 ml

Product Description:

EXTRA VIRGIN ORGANIC COCONUT OIL

100% Organic and Cold Pressed

A highly versatile oil that can be used to condition the skin and hair.

An ideal moisturiser for the body, it makes the skin smooth and even textured. Applied directly to the skin or hair before washing, our coconut oil makes a very effective conditioning treatment. Soothing dry sensitive skin or scalp and adding lustre to damaged hair. Highly recommended for baby massages.

This Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is 100% Organic and pure. Our coconut oil is cold pressed, processed without heat, to retain its unique balance of nutrients.

My Experience with Kama Ayurveda Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil:

Packaging: The oil comes packed in a light weight, semi-opaque plastic bottle with a cork/stopper like opening and a screw lid. Though the packaging is sturdy, I wish instead of a cork, it would have had a nozzle opening for easy dispensing of the oil. Currently I use it by piercing a hole in the cork. I have traveled with the bottle too and did not experience any spilling.

Texture and efficacy: It has a very light and nongreasy texture when compared to the regular Parachute type oil available in the market. It gets easily absorbed into the skin and hair. When used on the hair, I generally avoid using a conditioner post wash. It makes my hair soft and lustrous. I have been using it religiously for more than 5 months now but didn’t notice any relief from hair fall which I have been experiencing post-pregnancy.

This is one of the best option if you are looking for a baby massage oil. It does nourish my baby’s dry skin well and I do not feel the need to apply the moisturizer after bathing her. It is not harsh on baby’s delicate skin. My baby’s skin is super sensitive and it turns red if I experiment with massage oils on her. This Kama Ayurveda oil is the best one and I have bought quite a few bottles in last six months.

Price factor: Since this oil is extracted by cold pressed method and is 100% organic, it is costlier than regular ones available in the market. There is a remarkable difference in the quality and texture of the oils. I have even used Forest Essentials Coconut Oil and haven’t found any difference between Kama and Forest Essentials oil except for the price. Forest Essentials is charging almost double the price.

Pros of Kama Ayurveda Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil:

• Light weight in texture.
• Non-greasy.
• Organic and extracted by cold pressed method.
• Conditions hair. Makes it soft and shiny.
• Best option for massaging babies.
• Spill-proof packaging.
• Easily available in Kama stores and online too.

Cons of Kama Ayurveda Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil:
