Gawwwd!!. I have been away for more than a year and a half and it feels like it has been ages!! I so missed writing here, how are all you girls?! I still was a passive reader, always read all your articles and due to some or the other reason kept myself away from resuming writing and now after brushing aside all excuses, I have grabbed a camera and am ready to write!! Feels great!! And I did observe quite a few changes taking place here on IMBB and loved every bit of it. Be it the certificate thing or the points we get per article and the new Madam Gupshup forums, it has been quite an amazing journey which I was not an active part of. 🙁  Okay!. So after all that rant, coming back to the review I have for you girls today, it is a new addition to our very favorite Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Color Range. I already own “Brownie Point” and love it to bits, only that it is quite drying at at times, but I still love working around with it and a few days back when I was checking out the Lakme counter, I came cross this “so-my-kind-of” shade, it was a gorgeous magenta pink and it was matte!! which means we are “made-for-each other.”

So, the lipstick comes in the standard rose gold packaging that the Lakme 9 to 5 range has and I absolutely adore this packaging as I am a huge fan of rose gold as it adds a lot of feminine elegance to the look of anything.  The packaging is quite sturdy as we all know, the lid closes with a click and is travel friendly. And as usual, the shade name is mentioned at the bottom of the bullet, but mine got a little ruined due to some code on it, but you can still read the shade name.

My Experience with Lakme 9 to 5 Plum Pick Lip Color:

Like I have already mentioned, it seems to be a new addition to the range and that is what the SA told me. She also mentioned that there are a few more shades that have been added and the difference is that the new additions are going to be a little more on the creamier side compared to the very matte/dry ones so far.

This lip color is a beautiful magenta pink, does not show as pretty in pictures, but is way more gorgeous in person, not very bright, looks a bit like bubblegum pink, but trust me, it is not going to washout Indian skin tones. I have medium skin tone and it does not make me look washed-out when I wear this shade and hence it should work with almost all Indian skin tones.

The texture of this lip color is a bit smoother to work with, not as dry as the previous shades from Lakme 9 to 5. It glides super smoothly on lips, but this is definitely not going to work on chapped lips. Creases on chapped and dry lips, settles in fine lines if you have not pampered your lips well. So make sure you have done that exfoliation job well, have a smooth canvas to work on and you will rock this lip color. Girls with extremely dry lips will surely need a lip balm beneath.  It does not have any strong fragrance to it, just the usual mild sweet scent which does not linger around and is not at all bothersome.

You need to swipe it a couple of times to get full coverage if you have very pigmented lips as the color needs to be built up.  Like all the other colors from this range, this sits pretty on the lips with a matte finish, does not feel heavy, but stays in place for about 4 hours before you need a touch up, transfers slightly, but you are sure to have color on lips.

On the whole, I absolutely love the shade and the texture of this lipstick and really hope Lakme comes out with more pinks in the collection as I am more into pinks and the 9 to 5 range is filled with all browns and nudes.

Yes, it is a must-have shade at an affordable price if you love mattes.
