I picked up some 4-5 colours recently from the newly-launched “Maybelline Vivid Matte” range. The shades are pretty wearable which makes this range great for everyone. For today’s review, I have the shade in number “vivid 10”, so take a peek-a-boo.

My Experience with Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Vivid 10:
The lipstick comes in a deep red packaging with a black base and inner packaging. I love how they made the packaging different this time, so it is easy to spot the range in your stash. It has a plastic wrapped with “vivid matte” written over it, but I hate the fact that the name isn’t printed over, the name gets erased when the plastic is thrown away. The name is printed over the base, but that’s a bit inconvenient to see every time. The bullet twists up very nicely so no flaws with the packaging, but I wish the shades had some names to make it easier for us.
The shade in “Vivid 10” is a soft pink shade which is very close to a rosy pink colour. It is a very feminine shade and great for romantic getaways. It is a great day-wear shade but won’t be that great for the evening time because it is very subtle.
The colour will not show up very nicely if you have dark lips since it may appear ashy and milky on the lips. It is a great shade for fair to medium skin tones but will not suit dusky skin. I pretty much love how soft this shade is but it does not look that great on my tanned skin.
The lipstick glides very smoothly onto my lips without a lot of efforts. Although it is has a classy super matte finish, it is creamy initially which gives a flawless finish. After an hour, it feels a bit dry but that is the case with all matte lipsticks, so no issues there. Some shades accentuate dry lips but this shade is super smooth and does not cling to dry patches.
The lipstick stays for 3-4 hours with full meals with the colour fading little by little. And with a few snacks, the staying power is extended by one hour. It does not fade away completely at any point as it leaves a stain which easily comes off with a makeup remover.
Pros of Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Vivid 10:

- Available easily.
- Attractive packaging.
- A very pretty romantic baby pink shade.
- Great shade for day-wear or office-wear.
- Creamy texture which glides smoothly on the lips.
- Matte finish.
- Intense colour pay-off, so will cover pigmented lips.
- Stays on my lips for 3-4 hours with meals and an hour or two more with little snacks.
Cons of Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Vivid 10:
- Might dry out the lips a little.
- Easy dupable shade.
- Does not suit dusky skin tones.
- Not a pink for everyone.
- Might appear ashy if you dark lips.
- Misleading colour shown at the bottom on the label.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Vivid 10?
I did really like this range. This is a subtle shade which a lot of women might love but I am not a big fan of such light pink shades.
