MUA Matte Perfect Foundation – Natural

Dear Beauties,

Continuing with my MUA review series today I will be reviewing their Matte Perfect Foundation which was a new launch from MUA couple of months back. I was looking for an everyday wear-type of foundation and since the price was less I thought it wouldn’t hurt to try this one.

Product Description:-

The perfect blend of skin care and make up, the Matte Perfect Shine Control Foundation leaves your skin with a flawless matte finish whilst keeping shine at bay all day. The light-weight formula evens and enhances your facial features without hiding the skin and the sheer soft hint of colour gives your skin a healthy dewy glow all day!

‘To achieve flawless full coverage with no streaking make sure you apply your Matte Perfect Foundation using F2 MUA Pro Foundation brush. Buff the foundation onto the skin using circular motions to mesh the foundation with your skin as much as possible’ – Karla Powell, MUA’s Head of Make-up Artistry
With 3 shades, Make Up Academy’s Matte Perfect Foundation has been designed to suits all skin tones. It is perfect for all skin types including the most sensitive.

Directions:

1. Apply your MUA Matte Perfect Foundation onto your brush or onto your fingers.
2. Using your MUA brush or fingers blend the concealer outward from the center of the face using circular motions until it disappears into your natural skin tone.
3. Dust the MUA Matte Perfect Loose Powder over your foundation before it dries completely, helping it to set and ensuring your foundation lasts all day.

My experience with MUA Matte Perfect Foundation – Natural

The foundation comes in rubber type plastic tube which I really like because you can control the amount of foundation coming out not like pumps where most of the times there is lot of wastage of the product. The Matte Perfect foundation comes in 3 shades and I got the Shade no 2 “Natural” which is couple of shades lighter for my NC42 skin tone.

The main reason for choosing this foundation was the claim of giving Matte effect on face and of controlling shine all day and for me this foundation fails on both the claims! The texture of this foundation is quite thick more like cream rather than liquid. I use my Sigma F80 brush to apply the foundation and still found it quite difficult since the foundation was thick and wasn’t blending easily. The foundation on skin gives sticky kinda feeling which I hate!

The claim of giving matte effect is completely wrong! It does not mattify your skin rather it gives dewy finish. If you want complete matte effect setting this foundation with a good powder is extremely important or else your foundation will slip away soon. I have combination to oily skin and this foundation made me oily within 2 hours of application and that too after I set it with a loose powder. It made my face extremely shiny after couple of hours and started to fade away after 4 hours.

MUA Matte Perfect Foundation in Shade Natural Swatch (2)

The coverage is sheer to medium, it covers minor redness and spots but if you have major dark circles and pigmentation you will need a separate concealer. There are limited no of shades – only 3 available which makes it even more difficult for our indian skin tones since we need foundations with yellow undertones.

Pros of MUA Matte Perfect Foundation – Natural:

-> Good packaging.
–> Covers minor spots and acne well.
-> Dry to combination skinned girls will love the dewy effect.
-> Extremely cheap.
-> No fragrance and did not irritate my skin or break me out.

Cons of MUA Matte Perfect Foundation – Natural:

-> Does not mattify the skin.
-> Does not control the shine.
-> Makes skin shiny after couple of hours.
-> Does not last long.
-> Limited shade range.
-> Not suitable for combination to oily skinned beauties.

IMBB Rating:

3/5

Price:- 2 GBP for 35ml

Do I recommend MUA Matte Perfect Foundation – Natural?

If you have dry skin and don’t need much coverage then you can def give it a try but I would request oily skinned beauties to stay miles away from this!

I hope the review was helpful, until next time stay beautiful
