MAC Pro Longwear Foundation comes in a glass bottle . It has a pump dispenser, which is good because you don’t have to buy the pump separately.
I have tried using it with all kinds of foundation brushes and even finger tips, it works well with just everything.
What I like about MAC Pro Longwear Foundation :
- I gives an amazingly natural finish to your skin. The foundation doesn’t have dewy or super matte or satiny finish. It just gives that” my skin but better” finish .
- The coverage is sheer to medium, which I like because especially in summers this is the exact same kind of foundation I would like to wear on regular basis. The consistency reminds me Lancome Teint Miracle Silky Matte Foundation.
- It feels light on skin and there are very rare chances that you’ll get a cakey look with this one.
- It claims a 15 hour wear but I have worn it for 12 hours straight and honestly, I am impressed. Even after 12 hours my foundation looked fresh, and my blush & highlighter were still with barely any fading. Infact i feel the finish of the foundation actually gets enhanced as the hours pass by. I had not worn a primer beneath the foundation.
- It is non transferable – no transfer on phone and I don’t have to use a tissue to get rid of the excess.
- MAC Prolong wear + MAC MSF is a deadly combination. you can’t get more natural look than this.
- It didn’t oxidize on me.
- I personally think that this is a better foundation for people with oily or combination skin but it didn’t make my dry skin uncomfortable or stretchy after amazingly long wears.
- There are 16 foundation shades to choose from.
- It photographs well.

What I don’t like about MAC Pro Longwear Foundation:
- I normally wear NC 35 Foundation in MAC but the NC 35 of MAC prolong wear is not an exact match for my skintone. It is a little orangey and a hint darker. It still works for me but it’s not THE EXACT match . I suggest that you do test it at the store before purchasing.
- I have to and have to moisturise my skin prior to applying this foundation or it accentuates the dry areas of my face, especially around the nose area.
- You have to work pretty fast with the foundation because it dries quickly

You can see that the pro long wear is a little more orange as compared to the other two shades ,which are the exact match to my skintone.

Rachan, it doesn’t accentuate the pores but if you looking for something with a good coverage, this one might not be a good option. 🙂
As for the pores, you would have to wear a primer or pore minimizer underneath to take care of the pores. :))

Scarlett, it is mainly a long wear foundation and you get some 16 shades to choose from. And it is truely a long lasting foundation . Even after 8-10 hours (without touch ups) this looks fresh . 🙂 I would love to have such a foundation especially for summers. 🙂
I would still say that you try it for a full day before purchasing it. Everyone’s skin is different and behaves differently to different products so try it before getting it. 🙂
No you can go to the store and ask the MUA to do makeup for you.If you wear powder regularly, ask the MUA to put that for you, if primer then also you can ask. Keep it on for the whole day and see how it works for you. 🙂

I use the MAC Mineralize SPF 15. I love it. But for summers I prefer lighter foundations so this and MUFE one would fit in. :))

Monika..I think you are asking about MAC Mineralize SPF 15– that one is solely for dry skin. You may choose between studio fix and this one. I think studio fix has more coverage than this one. This is like a tint. 🙂

priya, you know mrunmayee also mentioned about the same thing…sometimes mineralize products oxidize on some people. I suggest you don’t go for it at all, you’ll end up looking orange 😐
haan i tried…she applied studio fix on one side and mineralize on other…studio fix was perfect but the minera one turned orange !!! 😐 😐 sadly the shade was out of stock…hopefully this time it will be avail

I’d say Pro Longwear , you’ll get your exact shade match. Lancome stocks just 3-4 shades.

I think only coverage is different!!
The only MAC range for oily skin is actually Studio Fix. Studio Tech and Mineralized are all for dry skin. Even Studio Sculpt is for dry skin. Pro Longwear can be worn by people with oily skin but the problem is that it does not have in between shades. Like I’m NW43, I either have to take Pro Longwear in NW40 or 45 – 40 was too light, 45 was too dark. I guess I could have both both jars and mixed them myself to get NW42.5 -but that was way too much work so I’m still using Studio Fix Fluid as that comes in NW43.

Yes Rati, the colour of the Pro Longwear is different from Studio Fix. I picked up NW45 in US and had to return it (thank goodness they take opened foundation for return) because I use NW45 in Studio Fix Powder, but NW43 in Liquid.
NW45 was way too dark for me, darker than my Studio Fix Powder. After 2 days I gave up and returned it.
I am going to try other shades, let’s see if i fit in any of their shades. I am using this mainly wth MSF and so far I am happy with he results..Infact i am reaching for it the most these days because it feels quite lightweight. 🙂

I think the coverage is not so good because they recommend that this is used with the Pro Longwear concealer. I use that concealer – it’s quite good actually – together with this foundation. But I use it with Studio Fix Fluid.

Cali, I think you are a shade lighter but that would be very wild guess to pick up a foundation shade because undertones also come into play. You might be in NW category but who knows..you would hve to try the shades on your face and neck to get the right idea.
Askk the MUA to do the full face for you and then see. Try to check if the foundation shade is matching to your chest colour or not…Face , neck , chest should look similar after you have applied foundation. …no lighter face, darker neck and lighter chest :ghost2:
And try MAC Studio Fix or Pro long wear . :))
