I have quite a few NARS lip pencils, but my obsession with these pencils is never gonna end! Recently, NARS came out with 10 new shades and I picked up five of them. The one that I will be reviewing today is “Famous Red.”

My Experience with NARS Famous Red Velvet Matte Lip Pencil:
NARS velvet matte lip pencil comes housed in a matte black chubby stick packaging. It is not retractable, so you have to sharpen it whenever it’s required. The end of the pencil is colour coded to the shade of the lip pencil. The name of the brand and the shade details are printed in white around the pencil.
NARS lip pencil formula is one of my favourite lip products. It comes in a jumbo pencil packaging which covers a large area in a single swipe and takes less time to cover the entire lips unlike regular lip pencils.
“Famous Red” is a pink-coral red color which is perfect for this spring-summer season. This color will look good on all skin tones. There are several red shades in this “velvet matte lip pencil” range, but this is the perfect summery red color. Not only the formula is stunning but the staying power is also great. I get full 5 to 6 hours of wear time without any drinking or eating. It does not fade away when you eat or drink, but it leaves a stain behind so your lips won’t look flat even when the color has worn off a little bit.
The formulation of NARS lip velvet matte lip pencil is just stunning. It offers matte finish without drying out lips. It just glides on very easily and feels very lightweight and comfortable on the lips. I do not notice any bleeding or feathering, which is a major concern for some people.
This pencil makes your lips appear fuller and smooth and does not settle into the fine lines of the lips, but you do need to scrub your lips before applying this since it clings on to the dry patches of the lips.
