Oriflame Pure Colour Eye Shadow Palette Blues and Lilacs Review

Oriflame Pure Colour Eye Shadow Palette Blues and Lilacs

Hello Girls! Like most of you, I had just been a Kajal & Lipgloss person but thanks to blogging I’m finally entering the make-up world & trying to understand the mastery of makeup! I haven’t got all the bits & bobs of make-up stuff but I’m trying to collect a few economical ones & then start practising before I buy all the high end products! So I bought this Eye shawdow palette from Oriflame to get the skill! Thanks to Rati & all the IMBBians like Mrunmayee, Deeptima, Fathima Sireesha, Suma, Insiya , Jinal , Margaret, Cali , Urmi, Beenii, for the lovel tuts on IMBB! I’m sorry if I’m missing out others! 🙂
Just wanted to say this quote because I believe make-up blogging has been guiding me towards something (make-up) that gives me bliss.
You learn more quickly under the guidance of experienced teachers. You waste a lot of time going down blind alleys if you have no one to lead you.” By W. Somerset Maugham
Ok chalo ,I know I drove you all to boredom, so I’ll go ahead & tell you all about this Eye shawdow palette. 😉
What does Oriflame Claim about this Eye shadow palette: It’s a Eyeshadow palette containing five colourful shades. Each shade glides on with a smooth, creamy coverage and velvety texture for a soft, satin finish. Create a wide variety of looks by mixing and matching the colours.

My Experience with the Oriflame Eye Shadow Palette

Oriflame Pure color Eye shadow palette is available in the form of two palettes- One with Blues & Lilacs & the other one in Greens & Browns. I bought the Blue & Lilacs Palette. The palette is in a simple case with 5 shades & 2 applicators. There shades are not given any name. The texture of the eye shawdows is creamy, the first, second & the fifth color have a little glitter to it & suitable for doing party make up. I guess the first color can be used as a highlighter too! These colors are perfect for this winter season. The staying power of the eye shadows isn’t good; it stays just for 3 hours, so this is just suitable for practice. I hate the dual-ended sponge applicators from the palette; the quality of the sponge isn’t that good!

Pros of the Eyeshadow palette

  • The shades are beautiful! My favourite is the first & second one.
  • Suitable for party-makeup practice
  • Not much fall off!
  • Packaging is simple & travel-friendly.

Cons of the Eyeshadow palette

  • Staying power is too bad, doesn’t stay for more than 3 hours.
  • Little expensive considering there are other well known brands like Faces & Lakme offering eye-quartets at almost the same price.
  • I found the 3rd & 4th color don’t blend well.
  • Applicators are of bad quality.

I kind of have a love-hate relationship with the palette, I like the colors but but I dislike the fact that they don’t stay for long time but I guess I’m expecting too much! I don’t know  🙁

P.S This is the first time I’m writing a post on eye shadow palette, so please forgive if I have written it too bad & please provide suggestions.

Will I recommend this! I don’t think so considering the staying power!

Will I repurchase this! NO! I’ll try some other eye palette in the same price range! Do you girls have any suggestions for me?

  1. Maybe give Maybelline quads a try? Ohh..the eyeshadows Suma has..Loreal – those seem pretty good too…no idea about the price of those. I love the colours of this palette, though 🙂

  2. nice review uzma.. even i have a dark purple and dark blue colour eyeshadows from oriflame..they don’t blend well either..they are poorly pigmented(especially the purple one) and are chalky! :hunterwali:

    1. Thanks :handshake: Sireesha! Okay! Tell me when you started learning makeup which brand did u start off with? May be I’ll have a direction!

      1. oriflame eyeshadows are the only branded eyeshadows i own! i practised mostly with local unbranded palettes! 😀 but the oriflame eyeshadows are really good..i own 9 of them and excep for the purple one :hunterwali: i love all the remaining 8 shadows..they are smooth, nicely pigmented and blend so well.. :haanji: may be you should try the individual ones.. or the best thing you can do is to buy coastal scents/ebay wale palettes..if you do not have a credit card to buy on those international sites i know a superb seller on ebay india who on request lists any item from any us website for us and we can pay for the item here on ebay.in(including shipping) with our debit cards! i bought beauty blender from him and have no complaints till now..you can try this :waytogo: hope this helps :))
