Accessorize Masquerade Palette Review

Accessorize Masquerade Palette

Hello beautiful girls,
It has been two weeks since I wrote at IMBB. I have been busy with office for quite some time. I have been seriously missing IMBB. Nevertheless I have been peeping in everyday to know what is going on. I guess Rati is busy attending weddings; I am just waiting for her to post the pictures of her complete look :D. By the way it is February and love is all in the air. I hope everybody is busy planning their Valentine’s day. Do post comments on what you are planning for the D day. I may copy some of your ideas :D. Today I am reviewing a palette from Accessorize, it is a Masquerade Palette. I gifted myself this pretty pink baby this Valentine’s. Let us see how it fared.

What Accessorize claims about Masquerade Palette:

A complete all-in-one kit to create that perfect masquerade.
*Please note that masquerade implies a party where people wear masks.

My experience with Accessorize Masquerade Palette:

I have been using a single makeup kit for quite a long time. I really needed a change, but was on budget. I came across this adorable palette while I was on my online shopping haul. I bought it immediately as the price was really jaw dropping.
Packaging:
The palette comes in a diary kind of packaging with a pink band. The outer covers are made of cardboard which makes the palette light weight. There is a long mirror inside the palette. No applicator is included. Pink band which is attached to the palette helps keep the cardboard packaging sturdy. However the palette is hardly of palm size.

Product: There are 16 eye shadows (a mix of shimmer and matte). Three blushers (2 shimmer and 1 matte). A bronzer (shimmer) and pressed face powder.

Eye shadows: The eye shadows include varied colours like pink, purple, green, grey, highlights, gold, blue, brown, etc. The palette has a real good combination of colours. Some of these are matte and shimmers. This makes this ideal for both day and evening makeup. All the eye shadows are decently pigmented. A little product is required for single use. There is no fall out and they are not chalky.

Blushers: There are three blushers in this palette – pink, coral and n*de. Pink and N*de are shimmer and the coral is matte. These colours perfectly suit any skin type and colour. Like eye shadows, even the blushers are not chalky.

Bronzer: I have been looking to buy bronzer for quite long time. This palette has however quenched my thirst for bronzer and eye shadows. The bronzer is a little chalky though, but I liked it. It is 4 to 5 shades darker than my actual skin tone. This perfectly suits my skin colour and it has a little shimmer to it.

Pressed Face powder: The face powder actually blends in the skin. I am really happy with this as the shade exactly suits my skin. It gives a velvety matte finish to the makeup.

Staying power: The eye shadows stay for almost 4 to 5 hours without a primer. The blushes, bronzer and face powder stay for a good 4 hours.

Pros of Accessorize Masquerade Palette:

• Cute, adorable, light weight, travel friendly package.
• The pink band makes the packaging sturdy.
• This palette is a mix of eye shadows, blushers, bronzer and face powder. No need of carrying separate elements of makeup. We can carry only this palette.
• The palette has all the basic colours required for makeup. Good for beginners.
• All the colours are highly pigmented. Please note that all the above swatches are single swipes.
• The palette goes a long way.
• Has in-built mirror.
• Palette has both matte and shimmer shades.
• This palette will suit all Indian skin tones.
• Good quality, the powders blend into the skin which gives a perfect finish to the makeup.
• Decent staying power.
• No fall out and none of the shades are chalky.
• Best for both day and evening makeup.
• No allergic reactions, will work well for sensitive skin.

Cons of Accessorize Masquerade Palette:

• Availability.
• Price may be an issue unless you are lucky enough to get this at INR 750/-.
• No applicators are provided.

IMBB Rating: This is my spoiled kid. I am totally, completely, madly loving this. I give it 4.5/5 (- 0.5 for no applicator).

As this has a shelf life of 3 years and this palette goes a long way, I may not buy this again. But if I don’t find anything better than this, I will definitely repurchase. However I am going to buy other palettes from the same brand. Need I say anything more! Go and grab one for yourself.

  2. Hey Shafiya, *clap* I was just about to order this too but hesitant of the quality. Glad you reviewed it dear *happydance*
But can you tell whats the manufacturing date on your pallette? Just to be sure if I order, they wouldn’t send old ones *scared*

AlSo you mentioned shelf life of 3yrs but as I can see on the back of your pallete pic, itz printed as 12M which means you should use it within a year from mfd. *headbang*

Plz clarify dear as I’m unsure to order this or not now. *whistle*

    1. Hey Shilpa, the manufacturing date on my palette is May 2013 and best before is Apr 2016. Even I was skeptical when I ordered this. but thank God they hv sent me the recent one 😀
And I am not sure what 12M is at the back of my palette, but am sure its not 12 months 😀
