Artis Oval 7 Brush Review

Hi everyone,

So today, I am reviewing the Artis Oval 7 Brush 🙂

Artis Oval 7 Brush Review

Product Description:
The Oval 7 is what some describe as the perfect size face brush. This patented brush is brilliant to apply foundation, blush, highlighting, bronzing, skincare, and setting powders. Artis brushes are made exclusively with CosmeFibre, a revolutionary engineered fibre made for applying cosmetic and makeup products. This brush measures 18 cm long, and the fibre bundle is 3 cm X 5 cm.

My Take on Artis Oval 7 Brush:

I have the entire “Elite” collection from Artis and I think after using these brushes for so long, I feel you really do not need these kind of brushes in your collection to start with. You can really do a lot of work with the regular brushes, but these are more like luxury brushes. I picked up No. 7 because I have the full set of brushes from Artis, but No. 7 was not included in the kit, and it is one of the most popular Artis brushes.

Artis Oval 7 Brush handle

Oval 7 is a medium-sized brush (I have added a picture showing No. 7 with No. 6 and No. 8 brushes). Artis No. 7 is perfect for applying foundation. I especially like using these kind of brushes only and particularly for cream foundations because with liquid foundations, I like to use with Beauty Blender or with my fingertips. If it’s a sheer foundation, then I like to just use a fluffy brush from Real Techniques or any other brand.

Artis Oval 7 Brush and 8

I feel this brush kind of helps moving the cream foundation better compared to any other brush that I have used, it’s very comparable to the flat top kabuki brushes from Sigma. It’s a good brush, it’s a very soft brush. If you need coverage on a certain part of your face, and you don’t want to really go all over your face with a second layer of foundation, you can just use this brush on that area and push the product, and this brush would make it look seamless.

It’s a very quick brush to apply, it’s not very big on the face. You can see difference between No. 8 and No. 7. It’s just the right size of the brush. It is also a very expensive brush and the only thing which kind of disappoints me is that, these brushes are Made in China, not that it matters, but I don’t know how these brushes are different from any other cheaper versions that are available in the market at the moment.

Artis Oval 7 Brush

Since I have these Artis brushes, I use them, but I don’t feel you really need them. These are more like luxury brushes, and they are good and they are all right. If you ask me if they are really worth the money, I would say you can live without them definitely, it’s not the end of the world without them. It’s not that you would not get the same finish with any other foundation brush or Beauty Blender.

Artis Oval 7 Brush

If you need one brush for your foundation from the entire Artis collection, I think it would have to be No. 7 because you would be able to do a lot of stuff – you would be able to blend your foundation, you can even do cream blush with it. Also, you can even blend your contour with it, especially the jawline contour. With a little slant, you can even contour your cheekbones with it. It’s not really a necessity, but if you think you cannot live without a brush like this, definitely go for it. I think you can totally replace this with any of your regular old-school brushes and I would say, I like those brushes more than any of the Artis brushes that I own at the moment.

Pros of Artis Oval 7 Brush:

  • You would be able to do a lot of stuff with this Oval 7 brush – blend your foundation and cream blush, even do contouring of the jawline.
  • Right size.

Cons of Artis Oval 7 Brush:

  • Very expensive.
  • Not a must-have brush.
