Avon Matte Nail Paint Grey Cement NOTD
I couldnt resist sharing my nails piccy with you guys. 😀 I used the Avon matte nail polish grey cement paint yesterday . True to its name, it is like the flat liquid grey cement colour.
A few things that I noticed about Avon Matte nail paints are :
- they are thicker than the regular nail paints and a little difficult to apply. Atleast I found it a little difficult to get the even application.
- the dry in 1-2-3-4-5 seconds. 😀 Before you even know it, they’d dry. Now the bad part is that since they dry so super quick you have work very fast with them or else they’d look thick and streaky.
- the actual finish of the colour comes after the nail-polish dries completely. So don’t judge the nail paint during the process of application.
- these nail paints are not for everyone. If you like nice glossy nail paints, totally skip these. These are flat matte. Infact, I myself let a glossy nail paint on my first nail paint be like that. Otherwise my hands were looking quite dull.
- they are very opaque. One coat and you’d get a full coverage on your nails. I used two coats.
- they chip within a day. 😐 (See my middle finger, it has already started to chip :(( As soon as i completed taking photo, a little part of the nail paint is already gone and I can see my nail through it. :(( ) It is a big drawback for someone like me. I barely find time to paint my nails and something that chips within a day is a HUGE negative point for me.
Overall, I did like the whole concept . I loved the matte part but I hated the chipping part. I can only wish that they improve their nail paint formula because I’d love to buy more of these. And I’d do more NOTDs for the rest of the nail paints for you. 🙂
*the arrow indicates the chipped part and now it has already come off . 🙁 I had applied two coats of nail paint yesterday.
Any tip for rectifying the chipped part. It looks like my nail has got a hole in it?

Hole in the nail :lol2: Hehehheee….hmmm..I guess you could fill the hole…then repair with nail polish remover..I don’t know…why is it chipping like that though..I thought it would be in the edge or something…this is like paint chipping and falling off 😀

its looking nice rati, yes chipping is a big problem but i dont mind since i find this shade quite unique, i will still go ahead and buy once i finish with the first bottle :))

I just applied once alternating violetta and funky fuschia and I removed it immediately as I was going out with a green outfit and thought these colors might look odd. I have to try them again 😛

yes yes , it’s that mac minty one. 😀 actually na reteeka these are quite nice. infact i really loved the complete finish , the chipping part is bad!

cali if they come up with more shades I’d be really tempted to buy more but guess next time I’d buy one first, test and the repurchase more. It is already chipping from my right hand thumb and index finger. I mean really not done!

I think they’d be good for nail art. If you do a white pattern on this base, it might look quite nice… on its own, its rather dull… i liked Ankita’s red shade though….
I really have no time to do nail art. I do like the dull effect bt I just wish they didnt chip so super soon. 🙁 yeah the red one is nice bt i dont think I’d be buying more of these now. I already have 4 with me now. 🙂

sireesha these are nice. like the effect is quite nice. noofoor said apply base coat and they’d last long. I am toh quite irritated because I would have to sit down to mend my nail paint again today only. :((

Hi Vibrant Hues – if you apply a normal top coat over these matte nail polishes, you’d get the normal glossy finish.

I agree they chip very easily. As Nupur suggested use a base coat. I use Avon nail experts base coat which works fine. :))
My nail paint stays for2-3 days atleast with a base coat.
and the only way to correct the chipping on your nail is remove the nail paint and reapply :zombiekiller: :zombiekiller:
i guess i’d have to buy base coat only. such pretty shades and such a bad staying power. :(( right hand wala nail paint toh is looking :yuck:

you were right, Sabrina. they dont even last 24 hours. The nails paint on my right hand looks yuk! I guess i’d buy a base coat because i do like the shades.
