Could you please suggest some good after sun gel, easily available in the Indian market, preferably online. Also, is it necessary to use a face wash before applying the gel?

I like the Lakme after sun gel. It is cheaper than the more high end options, but does a wonderful job of soothing the sun-exposed skin.
I haven’t used any commercial after sun gel ever. I rely on the fresh aloe vera gel or one from Patanjali for this purpose. *jalwa*

yes, anwesha is right. *haan ji* Lakme after sun gel is pretty good..It is advisable to wash your face before applying any mask or gel so you can get rid of dirt . You can also opt for Lotus herbals sunscreen face wash before applying sunscreen and stepping out.
i think lotus also has an after sun gel…

I use fresh aloe vera…. also pure rose water sometimes… to soothe the skin…
But protecting the skin before stepping out into the sun is better…
