Bharat & Dorris – Powder Blusher #15
Some things never change…while purchasing my first bronzer from B&D – Blusher no.7 (reviewed earlier), I also asked the MUA to help me with a highlighter and was suggested this blusher no.15. SO I walked out of B&D, again carrying 2 products! Some things are meant to be just the way they are.
The Product Details (from the website):
Ultra satin and lightweight powder, brushes on to a smooth finish. Perfectly pigmented, color never looks dry or flat and is great for contouring face shapes. Layer up for stronger color, or tone it down.
Price:
INR 450 for 5.2gms product
Packaging:
As mentioned in my previous review, the packaging is a dupe of MAC blushes – round black container with a transparent, flip open lid. The transparent lid allows you to see identify the colour. The compact comes encased in a black cardboard box. Like MAC, the compact does not have a mirror or applicator with it.
My experience with the Bharat & Dorris – Powder Blusher #15
Color: The colour in the pan looks like a shimmery neutral powder and in the hand swatch also it looks fairly neautral shimmery product – ideal for highlighting. Howver, when applied on the face, its deeper undertone comes out. Refre to the face application. On face, it looks less like a highlighter and more of a shimmer blush like MAC Coppertone or Springsheen.
I tried using this as a highlighter – bridge of the nose, on top of the cheeckbones, etc – it looked all wrong! However, when used as a blush – it looks perfect. It goes well with my dark lippies by providing a hint of colour and sheen to the cheeks.
Texture: The texture seemed consistent with the previous blusher – finely milled and smooth. It did not feel chalky.
Pigmentation: The powder is decently pigmented. The handswatch took a couple of swipes to show up on skin. Howvere, on face, the application is with a single swipe of the brush.
Lasting power:It might have something to do with the silica content of the blush, but it lasted fairly ok on my oily cheeks –giving me about 5.5-6 hours of wear time.
To sum this up for you:
Pros of Bharat & Dorris – Powder Blusher #15:
1. Nice winter shade for blush – goes well with darker lippies
2. Good pigmentation
3. Lasts for about 5.5-6 hours
4. Smooth texture
5. Does not accentuate pores
6. Applies evenly
7. Did not break me out
8. Simple, efficient packaging
Cons of Bharat & Dorris – Powder Blusher #15:
1. I would not advise using this colour as a highlighter – as had ben suggested by the MUA.
2. No applicator and mirror with the product
Yes, a 3.5/5 product.
It’s a decent product at a decent price – as long as you intend to use it as a blusher. If I were to review it as a highlighter -it would be rated much low. However, I am not penalizing the product for the MUA’s error.
