The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain Dutch Tulip Review

I fell in love with The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain in “Red Pomegranate” and used it so much that it got over in just 2 months. So this time, I decided to buy another variant, “Dutch Tulip.” Want to know how this one fared? Check out the review now.

My Experience with The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain Dutch Tulip:

It comes in a color-coded, tiny, glass bottle. You can easily make out the amount of product left through the see-through bottle. This bottle is black with an orange strip over it, which depicts the color of the stain. The applicator is attached to the cap and is pretty functional. You can use it to apply the product directly or it can transfer some product to your fingers and then apply. I do not have any issue with the packaging. The product is priced at INR 895 and I think it’s a bit too much. Anyway, I still love it.

The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain Dutch Tulip shade

‘Dutch Tulip’ offers a very refreshing and pretty shade of orange for your lips as well as cheeks. The shade is very wearable and will suit all skin tones although it won’t show up well on deeper skin tones. This shade adds a very fresh color and a hint of dewiness to my cheeks and I absolutely love this effect. It looks so natural and pretty. I can wear this on its own, without any other makeup product, or with a full face of makeup.

“Dutch Tulip isn’t as watery as ‘Red Pomegranate’ in the packaging. It comes out as a light cream, and once you blend it, it turns watery. It is just so easy to blend but you have to be a little quick. It blends quickly and easily over my bare skin and light foundations but blending it sets way too quickly over full-coverage foundations. So, you need to be super, super quick with such thick/heavy foundations. I use either my fingers or a damp sponge to blend the product. Blending it and achieving the perfect color intensity does require a little trial and error.

Even though the shade is pigmented enough for a cheek stain, I am not happy with it as a lip stain. It does not add much color to the lips but, anyway, I don’t mind it. I am not a fan of lip stains and prefer to use pigmented lipsticks on my lips. The formula is light and doesn’t dry out my skin. It doesn’t become patchy or cakey or tacky even if I layer it on a couple of times.

The staying power is great on my normal skin. It lasts around 7-8 hours on my bare skin and doesn’t budge at all if I apply it over a primer + foundation. It doesn’t make my skin irritated or uncomfortable throughout the wear time, which is awesome. I think it will last pretty well on all skin types.

Overall, I am again very impressed. I was not a fan of The Body Shop but now I swear by their skin care, body care and makeup products. This lip + cheek stain has fared well. I would love to try more shades from this range but sadly they’re not available in India.
