Boots 17 Oil Control Makeup Remover Review
Hi Bonitos,
I got this makeup remover around two months back and had quite forgotten about it. When I was arranging my makeup a few days ago, I noticed the bottle lying innocently on one of the corners. Since then, I have used it a couple of times and can review the same now. Please read on further to know more about it.

Boots 17 Oil Control Makeup Remover.
Price/Packaging/Quantity:
I do not really remember how many Baht’s did I pay for this 100 ml bottle. It comes in a short, stout cylindrical plastic bottle with a white screw cap. The hole beneath the cover to dispense the remover is too big and I always end up over-soaking the cotton wool. Though the screw cap is tight, still it is not advisable to carry in the bag/purse owing to the big opening underneath which may spill the liquid. Also, I noticed a foam element in this remover, the company could have given a pump dispenser instead. Whatever it is , I am not too happy with the packaging.
My Take on Boots 17 Oil Control Makeup Remover:
It is a pale blue-coloured liquid with the consistency as that of water, yes it is that runny. The moment you take some on the cotton wool, it imparts a very nice feminine floral fragrance. The fragrance though does not stay for long, yet it makes using the fragrance filled cotton wool on the face a refreshing experience. Coming to its oil control properties, I would say it fell flat on that front as it did not control the oil secretion at all. My face felt oily after an hour or so.
Moving on to its efficacy, I think the pictures will do some justice to that. As far as eye make up goes, this remover struggled to give me a clean eyelashes and eyelids, in fact, when I put it on my eyelids, my kajal got smudged and it refused to budge despite continuous cleaning with this remover. Thankfully, it did not sting my eyes a bit. Also, I have mentioned the foaming properties, so it kept on giving me some bubbles on the face and I felt as if I had used a soap. The foundation and the concealer came off instantly, but it again struggled to remove long-lasting makeup. I think it is a below-average product which may be used to clean only mild makeup.
Summarizing the pros and cons:
Pros of Boots 17 Oil Control Makeup Remover:
- Floral fragrance.
- Does not sting the eyes.
Cons of Boots 17 Oil Control Makeup Remover:
- Does not live up to the claims of being an oil control makeup remover.
- Leaves a foaming residue on the face which needs to be cleaned with water.
- Does not work on long-lasting makeup products.
- Packaging needs to be improved. The big hole leads to a lot of product wastage.
