Today I am reviewing a lipstick from Bourjois the Shine Edition shade 24 Rose Xoxo. I love Bourjois products and have been using this lipstick since a while so let’s see how good this shade turned out to be.

Price: Rs.955/- for 3gm

My Experience with Bourjois Shine Edition Lipstick in 24 Rose Xoxo:

Packaging: This tube comes with a silver glossy cap and transparent shade indicator bottom similar to the ‘Rouge Edition’. ‘Bourjois’ is embossed on one of the side with blue base, and “Shine Edition” printed on it. Shade number is mentioned on the bottom and name on the side below the bar code. The colored packaging doesn’t make it look rich compared to the Rouge Edition that looks much classier than this tube. Whereas this is my personal opinion, as far as the product inside is concerned it is worth spending and I don’t think packaging is a great issue.

Shade: Rose Xoxo is a beautiful pearly mauve pink with silver shimmer in it. The color is more subtle and more of an everyday wearable shade. This shade is sheer but buildable to medium coverage with 2-3 swipes. However, it cannot provide full coverage as the shade is light. On fairer skin this shade can give a very natural pink lips appearance, whereas on darker skin tone this shade might just washout because of the presence of shimmer.

Texture & Pigmentation: They’re designed to offer the comfort of a balm, which they most certainly do thanks to the inclusion of nourishing formula (mango butter extract), but the color payoff is much more than what you would get with any other tinted balm. Pigmentation wise as this shade is on the lighter tone hence you have to go 2-3 swipes to get the exact shade on lips.

Staying Power: It stayed for about 4-4.5 hours on my lips and yes they transfer easily. This lipstick claim to offer up to 10 hours of moisturization which I have to say is a bit of a stretch, especially when you consider the color lasts on the lips for about 4 hours max, but I’m not complaining as I love the quality that Bourjois provides. While I do believe that my lips feel moisturized, pillow soft and look plump however I certainly do not agree with the 10 hour hydration claim. It has a mild fresh fragrance with stays with you for even after an hour of application but it’s very mild and I don’t think it should bother sensitive nose people too.

• Sheer pigmentation (with reference to this specific shade)
• Doesn’t fulfill 10 hour hydration claim
• Will not be suitable for pigmented lips
• As it has shimmer appearance it might wash out darker skin tone
• Transfers easily on to cups & glasses

Would I repurchase it?

Yes I would definitely repurchase, but other bolder shades in this range that are more pigmented. Mauve lovers are bound to love this. And I must say that these lipsticks make your lips softer and effectively deliver a beautiful color. Moreover, they also keep it for good 4 hour span.
