My Experience with Buxom Full On Lip Polish – Zoe:

You may call me weird but I have a peculiar preference when it comes to lip products that I wear during every season. I tend to gravitate more towards dark shade lipsticks during winter and high shine bright colored glosses during spring-summer. I am so glad that this winter is coming to an end and spring is fast approaching. I have already started to see slight bloom on the trees, so out must come the lip glosses too.

So, when I got the chance to review these highly popular Buxom Full On lip polishes also knows as Big and Healthy Polishes, I gladly took up the opportunity. In my opinion, lip glosses are perfect accessory for date nights and special occasion since they impart such a flirtatious pretty look to the face.

Packaging:

The Buxom lip polishes are bigger in size than the usual lip glosses you come across hence it justifies the high price tag. The plastic tube is also very sturdy, very travel friendly. It has a doe-foot applicator, that’s also the perfect size . Very sleek packaging.

Shade:

The shade “Zoe” is a recent launch and is described as a dazzling orchid and I fell in love with this shade the moment I swatched it at Sephora. As we all know, “Radiant Orchid” is the 2014 Pantone Color of the Year, hence shades of orchid are becoming very popular in makeup.

In my opinion, the shade Zoe looks like a very deep plum and has very visible amount of purple and golden shimmer. The shimmer is not very gritty or uncomfortable on the lips and when the shade fades away from the lips, the glitter is not left behind either. The shade is described as sheer but I find it to be incredibly pigmented with two swipes giving a full opaque color on the lips.

Consistency and feel on lips:

The lip gloss itself is very thick but it is not too sticky or slippery on the lips at all. It also does not bleed. The thing which most people may not enjoy about this lip gloss is that it does have a very noticeable sensation on the lips. I do not feel a tingling sensation which most people report instead I do feel a cooling sensation on the lips.  If I had to describe the sensation, I would say it’s like the cooling sensation you feel when you intake air with peppermint/polo in your mouth. The sensation stays on the lips till the time the product is on. The intensity of the sensation is the highest during the first hour after which it is less intense, but you can definitely feel it. For me, the sensation is not uncomfortable or bothersome, but it does give you the awareness that something foreign is on your lips constantly.

Though this lip gloss claims to have a plumping effect on the lips, I do not notice any drastic difference in the plumpness of my lips other that the fact that lips naturally do look slightly fuller if you have a intensely shiny multidimensional lip gloss on it.

Staying Power:

The staying power of this gloss is very impressive. It stays easily on my lips for 3-4 hours and will even survive through minimal snacking, but it will not survive a full meal and you will have to reapply.  There is no tint left behind on the lips after the gloss fades.

Fragrance:

It has a very minty fruity scent which is on the stronger side, but I do not find it bothersome or irritating. You can definitely smell the product on your lips for about an hour.

Overall, I really like and enjoy using this gloss. The shade is absolutely amazing and very flattering. Though the price is on the higher side, the quantity provided and the quality of the product make it worth it.  I will definitely recommend.
