Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 9 Review

Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 9 Review

Hello Beautiful Ladies,

Today, I will be reviewing a new lip product from Maybelline. It’s called Lip Polish and they are liquid color balms from their Color Sensational range. These were launched in India a few days ago and since the first day I saw these, I wanted them and finally got a few of these. These lip polishes comes in 15 different shades and believe me girls, it’s really difficult to select the shades as all of them are really beautiful. I went with the aim of buying only 2, but ended up getting 4. Today, I will be reviewing the shade called Glam 9.  These do not have names written on them, all they have is the word “Glam” followed by a number.

Product Quantity:

5 ml.

Rs. 450

These lip polishes come in a small rectangular-shaped bottle with a silver cap. The small rectangular packaging makes the product look adorable. It has a doe-foot applicator which resembles a leaf in shape. The small size of the product makes it really easy to travel with and the applicator ensures proper spreading of the product.

A long list of ingredients is mentioned on the plastic wrap which is present on the lip polish, when you buy it, but to use the product, that plastic wrap has to be removed and finally the bottle is left with no ingredients mentioned on it.

Product Description:

A trio of Concentrates:

1. Potent Color Extracts: Pure saturated color pigments that provide deep, intense color like a lipstick.
2. Concentrated Liquid Balm: Moisturizing liquid conditioning balm gets the lips ready for intensely rich color. Gives a soft cushiony feel and care to the lips.
3. Glossy Shine Serum: Built-in glossy top-coat, that makes lips look fuller and more luscious.

Specially designed leaf-shaped applicator which makes application quick and precise.

Instructions For Use:

Apply lip color with applicator wand starting in the center of your upper lip. Work from the center to the outer edges of your lip, following the contours of your mouth. Then glide across the entire bottom lip.

My Take on Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 9:

Color and Pigmentation: Glam 9 is a beautiful bubble gum kind of pink with no shimmers. When applied, it resembles the natural color of the lips and gives a beautiful pink lip effect. These products are amazingly pigmented; one swipe is enough to get the full color (as seen in the packaging). The color is easily buildable, 2-3 swipes can easily be applied to get a better color without looking overdone.

Texture: These lip polishes are amazingly smooth to apply, they feel just like lip creams, but due to their creaminess, I felt a little streakiness when I applied the first coat. After second coat, the streakiness was gone. This product is extremely moisturizing too. The company calls it a concentrated lip balm, which is kind of true. I applied the product without a balm underneath and still my lips were feeling moisturized, they were not dry at all. On the first application, the gloss is completely non sticky.

After a few minutes or once the shine starts to go due to eating or drinking, the lips start feeling a little sticky, but it’s not too sticky to make me feel uncomfortable.

Staying Power: The girl, who was showing me these, told me that they are long lasting, and they will easily last up to 5 hours. I wasn’t too sure about this claim made by the girl, but I thought that it’s a gloss and its fine even if the product doesn’t stay for that long, but when I tried it, she was kind of right. I am not saying that the gloss or the shine stays up to 5 hours, but this product has staining properties, and so the lips will remain stained and colored even when the gloss is gone.

Pros of Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 9:

  • Beautiful natural-looking color.
  • No shimmer.
  • Does not require a balm underneath.
  • Decent staying power (at least the stain does last long).
  • Creamy texture.
  • The gloss does transfer on cups or glasses, but fortunately not much color gets transferred.
  • Travel friendly and cute packaging.

Cons of Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 9:

  • I feel that the price is a little on a higher side if compared with the quantity of the product.
  • Might feel a little sticky after some time.
  • Might look streaky on first application.
  • I wish that they had names instead of just Glam 9.

Would I Repurchase Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 9?

Yes! I am in love with this color and I am sure that I will use it on a daily basis, and so I will finish it soon.

Do I Recommend Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 9?

Yes! It’s a good product, although the quantity is a little less, but it’s 3 in 1 product and thus is worth trying.
