I cannot resist checking out new launches and most of the times, I give in to the temptation. No prizes for guessing that this purchase was one of those “I will only check out,” but I finally gave in…poor me! Let’s find out how Chambor has made a statement in this new range.
Rs. 745/- for 4.5 gm.
My Experience with Chambor Happy Hues Moisture Plus Lipstick – Ocean Roses:
The packaging that Chambor has come up with absolutely amazing and summer fresh. The mint cloudy outer paper carton has all the information including ingredients and product description. The tube has a black base and the cap is shiny mint color. There is a silver band at the joining point which adds to the glamour of the packaging. The shade name and number is mentioned at the base.
Surprise comes when you twist up the bullet; we’ve seen moisture plus lipsticks with a balm at the core, here the color is at the core and the balm all around. I was initially skeptical regarding the pigmentation, but when I applied, I was in love!
Not only was the texture smooth and balmy, it imparted a fair amount of color as well. You might feel it is like a tinted lip balm, yes and no at the same time. It gives all the goodness of balm with the required tint, but the texture is different than a tinted lip balm. It is not slippery or greasy, it just sits comfortably on the lips giving a lot of hydration in the process.
When I feel my lips need more color I use it on top of a lip liner and viola! On pink liner, it looks different, on red different and on n*de different again. So when I am going on a short trip, I can just throw this in with lip pencils of varied shades and I am sorted.
There is a pink core variant in this range which is equally beautiful but might feel a bit tacky if not applied properly. On the contrary, this shade is so very forgiving.
The staying power is worth a mention. In spite of being a balmy lip color, the tint stays a very long time with mini meals in-between. On top of my MAC Pink Treat liner, it stayed more than 7 hours with coffee and munchies in between. Also the lips are not left dehydrated or patchy after the color wears off.
On initial application, there is a cooling feel of menthol, but it does not taste like that. The cooling sensation lasts for a while without being too overpowering; in fact it gives a comfortable smooth fresh feel to the lips. I am super happy with the purchase and except for the price tag, I have nothing to complain. But again, Chambor is expensive compared to other drugstore products any given day, so I can overlook the price tag; even Colorbar, Lakme are priced high these days, so no regrets.
